Quinn let Brady pick his secondary apart. He didn't make any adjustments so glad we picked up Bowels over Quinn..

I can agree with this but I will put Atlanta in the upgrade status. Quinn will no doubt will make the D better and nothing needs to be done with their offense so his job is a lot easier then Bowles is.

I would have agreed before I watched the filthy cheaters make a mockery of his defense yesterday

As Bart Scott once so accurately reported, They couldn't stop..... (we all know the rest)

his D in the first half was killed with a thousand cuts.. it played better in the second half only to give up a double digit 4th quarter lead..

last night would have given me legitimate pause if he was just named our HC..

i'm even happier with signing bowles now..

let the off season begin!!

Sorry about that I was typing on the cellphone. Either way Bowles is the better pick up and is known for making adjustments.

Bowles will be more appreciated for turning around the Jets than this clown will be for fixing the Falcons. He wanted the easier job. Bowles appears to be a role your sleeves up type of hard worker.

I thought Quinn was the right fit at first, then I began to break him down as a DC. I came to this conclusion. You have Bowles and Quinn side by side.
Both began this past season with healthy, stacked Defensive units. Talent and speed galore. Bowles lost 3 impact players before the 2nd game of the season in LB Daryl Washington, DT Darnell Dockett and LB John Abraham. That is nearly half of his starting front 7. He also lost numerous players IE Tyrann Mathieu and LB Matt Schaugnessy for multiple games. With that said they did rank 5th in points allowed averaging 18.7 PPG. They did give up some yardage, but were ranked 2nd in first downs allowed at 18.8 per game. So, Bowles brings the heat and blitzes often. More than any other team in the NFL. He is the bend but don't break, game plan to your team's strengths type of coach. He managed to keep Arizona in many games and despite loosing a lot of his starters, he managed to help guide a team which was down to a 3rd string QB to an 11-5 record in the regular season.
As for Quinn. He went as far south as someone can go in my opinion. Fact, he has the most talented, quick and attacking D that I have seen in years.
There was a stretch where the Seahawks gave up 49 points in the last 6 games. I must touch on the fact the 5 of those 6 games were against Divisional opponents and The Cards were down to a #3 QB, the 49ERS were in utter turmoil and the Rams were also down to their #3 QB. But, this is still the NFL, and the fact that they only gave up more than 7 points 2x is a feat in it's own.
As for his performance in the NFC C game and Super Bowl. Both Green Bay and New England had their way with him. The injuries, made his Defensive scheme look pedestrian and porous. He had no answer for the NE spread offense and Gronk. He left his LB on an island with Gronk constantly and he had no answer for him or Vereen. No blitz schemes to get any pressure on Brady after Cliff Avril went down, leaving Michael Bennett double teamed. Brady picked him and his wounded secondary apart over and over.
Bowles will be a great fit for the Jets due to the fact that he can create game plans and schemes to fit the talent he has on a given unit. He has assembled an incredible coaching staff around him. And Bowles will be involved in all 3 phases of the game.
Quinn seems to be in the Rex mold. Defense first. If Quinn was our savior, trust me , Wolf and Casserly would've hired him.

I know a lot of people were hot for Quinn coming here but I am very happy the way everything worked out.

Yea, I was one of them. He was my top choice but after watching that joke of a superbowl I am glad we have Bowles. There was always the unknown factor with Quinn, is he running the defense or is Carroll. At least we know that Bowles is the man behind the Cardinals defense.

It just pissed me off how he didn't blitz Brady much during the SB. Everyone knows that Brady is not good under pressure. He has the best secondary in the league. I am sure they could hold down the Pats wrs as well better than Darrin Walls.

I agree with the point that Quinn was running Carrolls D but I would cut some slack about the blitzing their secondary was banged up and depleted. That stupid pass at the end of the game was the reason the Pats did not go home crying in their towels.

I can accept that. Seahawks had them beat. What about Collinsworth's point during the game that Seattle never changes their look on defense. That cant be good for a talent depleted defense like the Falcons. Let's just hope he changes that for their sake.

How much of a beast is #Seahawks S Earl Thomas? Played in Super Bowl with a separated shoulder & torn labrum. Having surgery, out 6-8 months

I wonder if that had alot to do with the way they played brady maybe they couldn't blitz because they didn't want to leave their secondary 1 on 1 to long or because a huge hit trying to blitz might knock them out of the game.

Because if you take this years SB and last years seattle looked like a different team they were mauling peyton left and right last year.
