Dangerous game not signing a veteran QB

Zach Wilson is the future but having a veteran QB on the roster whom has in-game experience is invaluable to a rookie not just for competition but someone to talk too other than the coaches whom are about them x's and o's.

James Morgan and Mike Whte have played a grand total of 0 games at this level giving no push to Wilson who looks like he is being handed the job even though his own words it has to be earned, but with no valuable competition this could end up a huge debacle in waiting.

What's plan B, if Zach flops? We end up rolling with one of the other 2 guys with no experience?

AGREED! Gotta get a worthy veteran to push and teach Zack but are there are left to do that?

So many quarterbacks were drafted this year, they will result in an experienced backup being bumped from some other roster curing cut-down.
It is a concern, but I'm not getting antsy - yet.

I think it was mentioned in another post that RG III's skill set compares best to Wilson's of those three - arm, throws on the run, and would be able to run the kinds of plays being written for Wilson. And if he has to start a few games, the rest of the team wouldn't have to learn a different playbook. So, naturally they will sign Hoyer, because he has the most "starting experience as a back-up".

Or, at least, that is something the old regime would do. Let's see what JD does.

Who exactly is out there that the Jets should be in a hurry to sign ? Even if we did sign one, what guarantee do we have that said player would show up for camp with the Union's recommendations to players ?
When camp starts in July, if we still don't have a vet, i will have to wonder if the team sees more in the kiddy core than we do .

If something goes wrong we will end up with another high draft pick. I'm sure with our GM and Coaching staff that they already have someone in mind.

I wouldn't mind Brock Purdy!

Collin Kapernick is out there. To bad he wont be able to push Zack Wilson because his skills was going down fast. Johnny Manzel also for a party time and Joe Namath could suit up. Haha actually Im not worried at all.

Griffin would make sense to me

Folse could be a Bears cap casualty, but he could be both more of a threat to Wilson and less of a fit
At this point don’t we need more of a threat to push the kid? Not just a vet player that’s just going to not be much competition for him? Competition just might bring out the best in Zack I believe. We need a vet to mentor Zack true enough but truly push him also. Threaten to take his job if he isn’t on point constantly throughout the year. Nothing should be handed to Zack and even he said it himself that he has to earn everything he gets. Hopefully he actually means that. Just my thoughts I guess.

Huh! What am I missing here? Please tell me this is a joke?
they said Wilson won't be handed the job so logically Morgan or White would be considered QB1. I went with Morgan since he was JD's draft pick last year, there is no other explanation. Zach needs to earn that title even though the team set the bar really low to where even Tim Tebow could win the job! :worried:
