Personally, I agree that idiots like Gase and Bowles contributed. But I think Darnold is just dumb. Makes the same stupid throws week after week. That's on him.
Think about that Miami...MIAMI!...put up 21 in the first half. Against a good team? Darnold will get picked a bunch of times and/or sacked. And they'll put up at least 35-40 against that supposed D.
Darnold isnt ruined, he was NEVER good to begin with. Just like Sanchez had 1 year at being QB and a lot of turn overs in College. So what did any one really expect outside Mike Macagman? I didnt expect Darniold or Sanchez to be good QB after 1 year and turn overs in College. Rex ran the ball all the time taking pressure off Sanchez. Look, Darnold has 50 million and OK. So lets Draft a QB with our top Draft pick 1 of the 2 very promising College QBs. Use Arizona Idea of fire Gaise and Draft a QB starting over next year. Im surprised Darnold did the Sanchez looking right at an UNBLOCKED LB and didnt audible for TE or RB to pick him up and allowing the LB to come at him unblocked. Just like Sanchez. Draft QB and keep Darnold to start next year and then as back up if Darnold cant do it. Maybe Darnold can go back to LB position he played before QB? No big deal guys. Start over next year with future Drafted QB and HC

I dont think Darnold is Dumb at all. I just think Media over hyped him in Draft. I think Darnold is a good young man and did well moving from LB to QB position and after 1 year of turn overs in College we shouldnt have expected him to come out like Mahomes. Thats dumber than a box of nails looking to get hammered to even think that. Unless you believe in tooth fairies.

First thing he needs this offseason is a real line. What he has now is just awful. I do not want this kid David Carr'ed, when it took us so long to get someone who really could be "the guy." Get him an OL. Then put weapons around him.

I think Darnold is done ....... I remember the game that ruined Sanchez (Balt) and the NE game ruined Darnold.
No offense, but this reminds me of the defense for Geno. There are just some QBs who don't understand that it's better for the team to take a sack, or dump the ball, than to throw a dumb pick. I now believe Sam is one of those players. Again, football dumb.
Are you saying Darnold can't take a sack? Yes, he makes some bad decisions when he is trying to make something out of nothing, but if there is anything these past three weeks have taught us, it's that Sam Darnold is quite able to take a sack.
If we get the #1 pick, you have to trade out of the #1 spot and build the OL. A lot of what we are seeing from Darnold is who he is when the team is down and he's getting no protection he tries to make anything happen. It's who he was in college. Problem is without a real OL he will play that way on every play. Build the OL and lets see what Sam does with a vastly improved OL. If he still struggles, then we get another shot at a FQB with the OL built in for that guy already. Drafting another QB next year would be a huge mistake and that is not because I think Darnold is the guy. It's the opportunity to build the OL which is clearly paramount in developing a young QB. Every college QB will fail on this team without an OL.

I turned the game off in disgust. I should have turned it off when I saw Edoga starting at LT. Not to slam Edoga but at this point he is no LT and should be playing RT. Until Beachum comes back there will not be another Dallas game. The most blame has to go to Macagnan I'm sure the reason Gase got him fired is when he realized what a $#@$!! disaster the Oline was doomed to be.
But Darnold, it's impossible to see any progress in him when he either gets immediate pressure or the line commits ANOTHER penalty! I think he has a great upside, unlike Sanchez who lacked the accuracy to ever be more than a 55% passer, Darnold can actually throw a receiver open. He does seem to have a gunslinger mentality that causes him to force a throw when he should give up on a play but that's something he needs to be coached out of if Gase is up to it.
The defense was ok against the run but as soon as the beard threw at a CB they were toast (literately burnt toast).

You know its funny how everyone is ripping Sam for playing badly when we all recognize this OL is historically bad coupled with terrible schemes and PCing. Believe me I am not absolving him of any of the INTS or arsine plays but I'll ask all you experts to compare how he played 2018 last 4 games and the Dallas game. He has been sacked repeatedly since the NE game and/or hit just about every time he is back there.
Like any QB who gets "pummeled" he has lost confidence in the schemes, OL blocking and frankly is lacking confidence himself.
None of us envisioned a playoff team - well maybe some did - before the season but IMHO this team has totally regressed... how can you make a Todd B coached team look good? The answer is let AG coach the team. .
I believe and have believed that AG was a bad choice because of his W-L record and how his teams played using his schemes. Christ - sorry God - even the B-team announces today stated how the Miami team started well and slowing and inevitably became bad under his tutelage. If they do not fire him asap then I feel SAM may never recover.... just my 2cents.

a coach that can not get out of his own head, thinking what he is drawing up or copyright infringing on what he stole from Denver & Peyton Manning won't work as he hasn't in Chicago or Miami and now definitely not here in New York...
fix the OL, hire a new coach, trade some assets and find new skill players to enhance what Darnold should be doing with his skill set...
only year two and his second Head Coach who is also his Offensive Coordinator and play caller it is bound to be problematic...

ok @butterscotch not asking you to snap the ball behind this offensive line but if you were in Darnold's shoes even lets put Peytong Manning in his prime behind this OL what will happen?
can't set your feet to throw the ball with any zip if the defenders are in your lap trying to sit on you... <<< being nice here could of got a little fresh
If Darnold sucks then so does Bell. He's not doing anything either. Keep drafting and ruining QB's without fixing the rest of the offense a young QB needs to succeed.
