Not a fan of letting Ellis walk and now Possibly Douzable for these 2 older guys... But with that said... When you have Richardson (24yo), Snacks (26yo) and Wilkerson (25yo) starting... you either need young cheap backups that fit the system or Older cheap vet backups that fit the system... Ellis was to rich and Douzable might be too...Plus we have TJ Barnes (24) who fits the mold of young and cheap who has a lot of potential..
Older? Sure, but they are one year deals for backup/depth with no guarantees that they make the roster. For example, if we go olb in round one, I don't see both Pace & Babin making this team.

Exactly !!! but good signings ... busy day for the Jets FO, looks like they are signing guys that add some degree of respectability to the backup positions.
If his knee holds up he's an upgrade over Douzable.
Lotta love for Douzable amongst the faithful, but Bowen is bigger and better, a starting caliber player when healthy.
The fear is the knee, he had microsurgery to repair a torn PCL in 2013 and it cost him playing time in 2014 as well. Now he'll be two years removed from that surgery and hopefully closer to 100%. If he is, its an upgrade at backup 3-4 DE.

Yeah, I said that in a post over a week ago and got crucified ! We've gone from one of the youngest teams in the NFL to one of the oldest just in free agency.

Seriously folks, it's impossible to not get older in FA. Any UFA who is worth signing has to have 5 years or more in the NFL.
