My mistake on the stats, but what are you saying with favre? I said that decker did well with a guy like geno and not Peyton. You say cotchery did well with favre...if we are comparing favre and geno I think it's one sided...in 2009 with Sanchez throwing him the ball he had 821 yrds and 3 tds...

I was agreeing with you that Decker did well with a inferior QB.. So many Jet fans though Cotchery was great I thought he was good just not great..

Cotchery was a great leader. Quiet and led by example. He was a great number three behind Edwards and Holmes when we replaced him with Mason that is when things went sour.

Those numbers by Decker were very impressive given his hampering injuries and the horrid QB play of Geno and Vick Here's how I see it when it comes to Decker, he is a excellent #2 WR and maybe one of the best in the league as being a #2 WR. If we can get another excellent #2 or even better, a #1 WR then we are golden. Harvin obviously isn't that #1 and he isn't even a excellent or very good #2 to me. He will be a excellent #3 slot type WR and Kerley is a very good slot or a excellent #4 . If we draft Cooper or White, we then have our #1 WR or a excellent #2 at worst. Same with signing Maclin, Cobb or T. Smith. A lot of people seem to think that Parker wouldn't be worth the #6 pick but I disagree. Guess I just know enough about the kid to realize he just isn't that good yet and earned that #6 draft pick. Even Geno I believe would have a very good year throwing the ball to WRs like that.

Disagree on Johnson. I think he showed there is no tread on his tires in SF

had his best years with gailey and is only 28....................he wasn't a fit for sf's offense

I believe the Jets have to address to o-line, LB and CB issues seriously in FA. I believe they should only sign one WR (Maclin, Cobb or T. Smith) or resign Harvin (at a much lesser price) and draft Cooper, White or Parker regardless. I believe Geno will be a lot better with more weapons and better protection around him. Now if the Jets are done with Geno, then draft Mariota or make that trade with Phila for Foles and multiple draft picks. Point being, the Jets aren't that far off from having a very good WR core. Decker is a very good start, give him help with a very good FA or resigned Harvin at a lesser price and/or draft a top-notch WR and no matter what QB we have, the offense will be better.

I agree with you on Stevie Johnson. Of course he had a down year at SF because he wasn't a fit and there are a lot of targets out there. When Anquan Boldin is your fellow WR expect your #'s to decrease. I would love to see Johnson as a Jet. Plus he would have that chip on his shoulder when we play Buffalo that might give us an edge. IMO...

i remember as a bill he beat revis numerous times

It's not that GeNOT lacks receivers, it's that at the NFL level he cannot "throw receivers open" the way he could in college, where WRs often get a 5 yard gap between themselves and a defender.
In the Big Leagues, that "open" window is more like 1 or 2 yards AT BEST, if that, and often times it's no "open" at all but just perfect pitch placement by a QB who puts the ball where only the receiver can get it.
GeNOT CANNOT do that simple NFL trick, which is why he is a failure in the NFL.
You could gift him Odell Beckham, Julio Jones, Megatron, Dez Bryant, & Randall Cobb and Mr. Smith still couldn't complete 62% of his passes or win 10 games.

Great leaders don't cry to be released because they thought they should be a number 2 w/r.. He asked to be released after the 2010 season he didn't like being behind Braylon and Holmes..

Wow! All I can say is I truly hope your wrong because the Jets may very well be stuck with Geno for one more year at least. If they don't draft Mariota, trade with the Eagles for Foles and multiple draft picks or draft a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round that beats out Geno. There aren't any FA QBs period that I feel will beat him out for the job. We'll just see and hopefully your wrong because we may very well be stuck with him. The Jets have to spend a lot of money this year and have some decent draft picks. So they will get some weapons and beef up the o-line. If Geno can't do something this year then he won't do it period.

Note: Hopefully Tampa is stupid enough not to draft Winston and he falls to us. Then the Geno and QB question will be answered but we all that won't happen.
