The Jets will likely be without one of their biggest offensive weapons the rest of the way.
Wide receiver Eric Decker was placed on injured reserve, the team announced Wednesday. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Decker is expected to have shoulder surgery, which will likely result in his season being over. He tried to get back on the field but couldn't do it, Rapoport added.
In three games this season, Decker had nine catches for 194 yards and two touchdowns in his third season with New York.
Around the NFL will have more on this story shortly.

Devin Smith will be available to join team after Arizona game as well. I suspect we should see some shuffling after Monday night to accommodate both Smith and Giacomini.

They should part ways with Giacomini as both Ijalana & Qvale have been doing a good job holding down that right side...

As for Smith they shouldn't rush in to return him as he is one gear too slow right now with no help in his poor route running...

Here is a thought Decker could still return in 8 weeks from now ( week 14 return )? yea yea unlikely but he could being that after surgery takes 6-8 weeks to heal if he does it now he could... why, there is a slim chance the team turns things around, a slimmer chance we could still make the playoffs and wouldn't we want a 80% Decker for that run?

Decker is a huge loss since he a bigger receiver and can win some of those 50/50 balls that FitzPatrick typically throws up for grabs. Devin Smith had shown nothing last year so I don't expect a lot from him when he returns so Enuwa and the rookies will have to show up.

B Marshall and Anderson on the out side.... J Marshall and Enunwa inside......

Next man up.. Love the talent of the young guys we found this summer time to step up and the reps for the future will help... Gotta look at the positives

This SUCKS. But honestly, with all due respect to Decker and his playmaking ability, this team should NOT have a problem stepping up and replacing him. Enunwa is growing every week and is really starting to look like a bonafide star player. He should be able to fill Decker's slot. This is all about the next man up philosophy. This team is very deep at WR. It's one of the lone bright spots thus far this season. If Bowles is doing his job (and I truly wonder about that?), he should be able to put Enunwa in spots that make him succeed in Decker's spot. Austin Seferian Jenkins has already made this team that much more talented at WR and he's already contributing for the team.

This is a big test for Bowles right now. The entire team is playing like amateurs, but make no mistake about it this team IS talented. Much more talented than the subpar product we have seen so far this season. Fixing the WR problems should be a cupcake problem to fix for Bowles and Gailey. How much success that they have as the season goes on will tell us in no uncertain terms if Todd Bowles is the right man to coach this team.

Honestly, I am done insulting Bowles for this week, but if he cannot fix this WR issue, then it is obvious that he cannot handle being a HC..........

SNY just said tonight that he might be ready for the spring. Decker's 2016 season is over........

Bad deal for Decker and the Jets, but as usual, the media are overreacting to this injury. Enunwa and at least one of the younger guys should fill the void (Anderson, Peake, Smith). Plus, ASJ adds another receiving option we didn't have before.

Not as huge of a blow as some are suggesting.
