What I like about this is that all his passes are short and across the middle slant type. He appears to be learning the offense

It would be huge if he breaks out. Breaking out would be a 30-35 catch 400 yard season and most importantly a reliable and trusted rotation guy. That in conjunction with healthy years from Davis Moore and TEs, plus the addition of a talented draftee (Dotson?), we are in good shape as far as receivers.

If this guy can become a part of this team going forward he could be the one to push Davis out the door after this season and allow a hopeful improved Wilson to grow together with a young receiving core with the player(s) we add before the season starts .

Jets WR Denzel Mims has been working with one of the best wide receiver coaches on the planet this offseason: David Robinson

for the big mouth doubters Elijah Moore, Zach Wilson have been working with Denzel who has nearly mastered the entire playbook. He has been studying tape along with working with a professional and they have compiled 4/5th of all the said receiver roles that this offense has to offer. Mims has worked on his cuts and stutter step but is still learning the slot role. hate him or love him he is a Jet and fans need to be behind him not throwing shade.

on top of learning he has gained muscle mass as seen in this photo below. his nutrition level is up to par and his physical prowess is where it needs to be. now all he has to do is go to camp and take a job opening claim it and own it. last year they gave him opportunities that for many reasons he could not succeed but now he is not only in shape, knowledgeable but also been putting in overdrive work to be ready to show the fan base and the league he was worthy of that second round pick.

You (and others) threw a lot of shade @ Zach Wilson during only his Rookie season last year.

In regards to Denzel Mims I don't hate him man. I'm just disappointed in 0 Career TDs throughout his first 2 years.

Hopefully he gets it together but I just don't see him getting anything more than 5th string reps on our depth chart come 2022.
I am going to say this once either get it or go away what I said about Zach Wilson he proved me right he was reckless and played hero ball he did not buy in to the game plan until watching not only a career journeyman but a veteran Super Bowl MVP play within the system and flourish.

Mims first year played in a system brought by Adam Gase QB puppeteer who did not give a rats ass about anyone but the QB. Denzel's 2nd year food poisoning, flu then covid during the pandemic year never was right to have a fair shake. So don't blame him for not being able to get his body and mental game right but what no credit for him trying to give something to help the team throughout the year but constantly throwing shade that he has not produced yet.

From those folks watching those workouts, have they said anything about improvement in his concentration/hands?

Was told his release has improved, twitch off the line is explosive. Running harder with sharp cuts unlike when he was drafted believe part of his scouting report said he would struggle with physical corners well that won't be a problem anymore.

Not only has he excelled learning the playbook but he has a better understanding of route progressions from a receiver stand point. Prior to this off season he was known for not consistently competing or outworking opponents for positioning but during these workouts his route running and hands catching ability has improved.

He only enhanced his natural gifts with the trainer and nutritionist.

If the Jets draft a WR early then this was all about driving up trade value

Not necessarily, remember last year we were down to the likes of street free agents at receiver to end the season. You can never have enough quality receivers

no, we did not re-sign Cole or Crowder. Corey Davis was more of a bust signing at this point. adding talent wherever they feel can come in and be one of the starting three is key. right now we have one legit guy that needs to be more durable in Elijah Moore. after that there is no one on the roster who can be that guy. so drafting someone early and later could be in the plans.

remember Denzel Mims was drafted prior to this coaching regime's tenure. So they will give him ample time to develop but will draft their guy(s) to add to their offense to help their QB grow.

I am happy for Denzel Mims,..... alway been a big fan of his ..... But the Jets should invest in 2 additional WR's with their first 5 draft picks. Today's NFL you never have enough good receivers.

I absolutely love that idea of double dipping @ WR.

• 1st round WR @ 10th overall.

• Early 3rd round WR (currently our 5th pick).

(I'm thinking early 3rd round will become an ideal spot to find an absolute sleeper/steal of a WR).

WR is one of the strengths of this draft class (early on) and I'd love to attack both of Edge/WR (double dip) in order to attack strengths of the draft (Edge/WR).
Dude, look at your name.

Our defense was atrocious last season and we lost games because of it even when the team was putting up points. We need an upgrade at each level on defense. Double dipping early at WR is not really an option.
