DeSean Jackson says he's unstoppable, calls out Richard Sherman and Darrelle Revis

Washington’s Week 6 matchup with the New York Jets just got a little more compelling after a confident DeSean Jackson bragged at Redskins Training camp that no cornerback can stop him, including six-time Pro Bowler Darrelle Revis.

Via ESPN:


“I don’t think no one can guard me. It’s how I feel about myself. I don’t feel no one can stop me. You can get Darrelle Revis, Richard Sherman, whoever you want to get.”

Jackson, arguably the most explosive big-play receiver in the league, isn’t wrong. The only thing that can hold Jackson back is the Redskins’ offense. Jackson led the NFL with 13 receptions of 40 yards or more last season, but Jackson had just 56 receptions for the year. The Redskins targeted Jackson 94 times in 2014, while the Eagles targeted Jackson 126 times in 2013.

Although Jackson averaged an astronomical 20.2 yards per reception in 2014, his total receiving yards and touchdown total both dropped in his first season with Washington, and in six games last season Jackson had fewer than 50 receiving yards. Jackson can be one of the best receivers in the league, no doubt, but he needs Robert Griffin III and coach Jay Gruden to back him up.


God, does this sound familiar. Remember the last time Revis was a Jet and so many ran their mouths to him?

This should be an interesting matchup. Ultimately, I do think Revis will own him. If he can take on guys like Andre Johnson, Randy Moss, and Calvin Johnson and make every one of those guys his b*tch, I see him having no problem whatsoever with Desean Jackson.

But it is the Desean Jackson type player that tends to challenge Revis the hardest.

Well, that angle is so insignificant that it never even crossed my mind. This is about 100% the matchup between Jackson and Revis. Personally, I don't care if Aaron Rodgers was throwing Jackson the ball, Revis is going to own him.

That's nothing. You should see his sign language. I haven't seen anyone flash Crips hand signals post TD better than him. He's in a category all his own.

Not many can. You may not like his mouth, but im, like most of you, are nfc east country. Even with the garbage play of rg3, he carved people up last year. He is 10x the WR Santana ever was...even as a skin. He's a true #1 , imo, and on the steelers would put up Antonio Brown #s ...

Personally I find it very stupid why any player would open a can of worms by running their mouth ? I always like the Jerry Rice type player who would just play ball and keep his mouth shut !

And per the comment above about RG3 not being very bright, I thought he was an honor student with straight A's in H.S. and @ Baylor.

Also, do you know who DJax's best game was against last year?

Seattle...31 ypc, 157 yards, and a TD...didnt matter Sherman, Earl Thomas, Chancellor, or Maxwell...whoever they put on him, they had no answer.

So if Seattle's defense wanted nothing to do with Djax...in Seattle...I would say Im not scared of revis either if I was him...

He also played at Baylor without a playbook...all those brains in 3 years hasnt helped him understand an NFL playbook yet, didnt stop him from getting busted cheating on his wife the day after he was married...or get coach after coach fired as he runs to Dan Snyder because he says the playbook is too complicatedand doesnt fit his skill set...

common sense/integrity has nothing to do with how "bright" you are, from my understanding at least..

As the years pass, it seems that way. It's all fluff and fireworks in the NFL nowadays. ESPN is all hype and tabloid. The funny thing is, the Shield sells itself. It doesn't need all the nonsense that seems to come with more TV coverage. The Sunday Ticket has been HUGE though. I love how you can go to almost any bar anywhere in America and watch any game on Sunday.
