We are all devastated by this, but we won an amazing game on 9/11. Nobody quit. Nobody feels good about Zach Wilson, but he has 24 games under his belt. He will get the snaps with these WR's going forward which he had not up until now. Things Zach has that he didn't have before is Aaron Rodgers to help him. Better OC. Better, way more experienced WR's. A healthy beast in Breece Hall. A better defense. We don't have to panic. Ground and pound with a great defense. It worked before. It can work again. This is way different than 1999. It's just going to be a huge uphill battle. And we have our 1st round pick next year.

I hate being positive, but not all is lost. We will know 100% what Zach is after this season. It just cost us $70M for a QB coach and two 2nd round draft picks to find out.

Still think we should have taken Derek Carr. Not sure why after an opening 26 yard run the next few plays are all passes, but it looks like Rodgers was an injury waiting to happen. 'Might play for four more years', for 'years' read 'snaps'.

The reality is that even on the fade route for a TD Zach threw a terrible ball. I thought it was going to get picked. Garrett Wilson saves him with a gorgeous, clutch grab.

If we can come out 3/3 after the 1st 6 games, I'll feel better about the rest of the season...but, I have very little faith in ZW and
I'm just hoping he starts to figure it out.

Well trying to not be completely deflated by this, and it's tough when you go from expectations and hope of a 12 win season and playoff hopes, to just hoping to see some good football, lets try to look on the potential positives.
  1. We are keeping our first round pick
  2. Breece looked like Breece
  3. Our defense looks top flight
  4. Zach looked more confident and didn't do anything to lose the game last night
The season is really going to come down to Nathaniel Hackett now. Can he turn Zach into Blake Bortles and save the season? We are going to have a strong running game, but we need to hit plays in the passing game to keep the defenses honest (they just stacked the box last night and dared him to throw).

Throw last nights performance out of the window for Zach (he hasn't played with the 1's and got in there to try to manage the game). He did a decent job as a game manager, now we need to see if he can win us some football games. I hope we don't waste another stellar season from the defense, but at this point we just have to see what the team can manage moving forward.

For more years than I care to remember, I've told fellow Jet fans--friends, family, on various message boards--not to ever fall for the pre-season hype. This year, with the Rodgers signing, the media and fans went off the friggin' charts. Now, right on cue, we're again in bust mode. Learn.

One thing I will say is Zach did lead 4 scoring drives. Not great, but he did move the offense.

He didn't do anything that cost us, he managed the offense and the game (he was playing against a stacked box, I would expect some quick easy throws out of that, but he was used to just manage things).

That being said, he didn't cost us and looked confident out there. He also didn't do anything to encourage us that he can move the ball down the field.
