Geno had a whole bunch of excellent targets he threw to accurately the last two seasons

Unfortunately they were wearing different colored jerseys than he was

Yeah, the CBs have been better at WR than our WRs for about 5 seasons now...it would be nice to have some WRs to help develop a QB with...I mean, Big Ben only had Ward, Burress, and Holmes to throw too...must be nice...I wonder if the Steelers would ever be stupid enough to go into the season with David Nelson and Stephen Hill pencilied in as starters...probably not, huh? Classy organizations seem to know better than thinking with $54 mill in cap space, all you need is Decker, Hill, Nelson, Kerley, and a bunch of undrafted rookie free agent and practice squad casualties...I mean who did Rodgers throw to as a rookie? Driver, Jennings, Jordy Nelson, Finley at TE and his #4 and 5 Wrs were Donald Lee and James Jones...not Mike Williams from Rutgers starting at WR versus the Patriots...(Geno won that game, BTW)...guess good teams know to build good young QBs...you need talent...not scraps no one wants. An idiot GM could have figured that out...John Idzik couldn't...

IMHO, if Geno had Jordy Nelson, Dez Bryant, Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones and AJ Green at WR he'd still be ranked at or near the bottom of the league.

But, go ahead, blame the receivers, blame the tight ends, blame the coaches, blame the GM, blame sunspots,.blame too much kryptonite, it couldn't possibly be that Smith is a dud.

when the 6'4 wr's hame is stephen hill, not only does it need to be pin point accurate, half the time you need to run down field and catch it for him too.

BTW, who was our deep ball threat last season? David Nelson, Decker, Kerley and his 4.59 40...who exactly was Geno throwing deep last season to? Oh...Zach Sudfeld...Im sure a lot of other QBs would have a great deep ball % throwing to those garbage pail kids...
When Percy Harvin was acquired he wasn't a deep threat? There was an article that showed P Harvin opened numerous times, and Geno Smith couldn't get him the ball( numerous other big passes an Average NFL Qb makes- will try and find it with the pictures that illustrate this point perfectly)

Hakim and Owusu don't have the speed to be used as deep threats. You can have the best deep threat in the game, but if your Qb can't get him the ball. Than just how effective is that deep threat going to be. Why my position is Devin Smith isn't going to help there, until you upgrade the Qb position.

I could see where the name "Smith" being in the title confused some, but it is indeed DEVIN Smith that this thread is about. We have numerous GENO Smith threads to bash/praise/be indifferent towards..........let's not hijack another thread with the same recycled QB drivel.
