Sitting at 2-10, the Houston Texans will soon be turning their attention to the NFL Draft. Already eliminated from the 2021 NFL Playoffs, it's never too early to be thinking of the future.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Texans seem to be zeroed in Oregon's Kayvon Thibodeaux or Michigan's Aidan Hutchinson should they select in the top three picks next April. Of course, the deciding factor will be based on the play of rookie quarterback Davis Mills, who will start Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

Texans coach David Culley said Friday that Mills is expected to be the starter for the remainder of the season barring injury, replacing 11-year veteran Tyrod Taylor.

"It has nothing to do with Tyrod not being ready to play or anything," Culley said. "It's just we feel like that's the best thing that gives us the chance to win."

Mills started six games in place of Taylor following a Week 2 hamstring injury. Taylor returned to action in Week 9 against the Miami Dolphins and has struggled to remain consistent.

@DefenseWinsChampionships maybe you know something I don't but I know you don't know more than Adam Schefter and all the actual good media co horts around the league

I've seen these talking tools media hacks wrong more times than not.

Watson if not for crazy massage habits would be Houston's QB and Mills wouldn't be.
but because of his crazy massage habits they drafted Davis Mills in the 3rd round
and right now is the starter of the Texans moving forward for at least the rest of this season but you said he won't be the QB but if he shows any kind of promise continues to complete passes limit his turnovers and put up numbers they might be willing to continue with him under center because actually he is not that bad with the current supporting cast...

I do my research and am good at it, Texans are a backwards organization BUT their current GM is a former Patriots' employee and his idea will be to sign a free agent or re-sign Tyrod Taylor to compete with Mills while building the roster out to then determine if they want to draft their own QB, especially knowing there is a player like Bryce Young possibly coming out in 2023 NFL Draft and he is more intriguing to build the roster up this next year with Mills as the QB and if Mills succeeds then they look elsewhere for play makers as the way they should do it...

I actually think the Texans do have a plan. They will dump watson for a grundle of picks, run with Mills for a year since the QB draft is poor, and build it thru the draft….. Same plan as JD has…..

remember their GM is a former Patriot so building the roster up first before adding a QB should be the plan and Davis Mills even though a rookie he has shown improvement in the games he has played to this point...

they roll with him next year and then go into the draft with an idea of where their team is..
could they draft a QB in the 2nd round or 3rd next year of course but they won't use a 1st on a QB to be the face of the franchise...
what weapons/receivers or running backs do they have right now that are game changers, do they have anyone?
