Jets' Brown plans to return for 17th NFL season

Jets left tackle Duane Brown, a five-time Pro Bowl selection who underwent recent surgery to repair a torn left rotator cuff, has decided to return for his 17th season, his agent told ESPN's Rich Cimini.

He played all last season hurt. I think he can be a valuable rotational player if healthy. Plus this is great insurance if Becton doesn’t come back

Maybe He can take Becton under his wing and teach him how to be an NFL Lineman. If I was Saleh I would see if DB would be open to that. Just the way the man goes about his business might be a help to this kid.

Hopefully Brown is fully recovered from his recent surgery in time for camp. Id expect him to be the starting LT. Draft a RT at 13 and keep Beckton as swing tackle. Don't think we will see Mitchell play another snap unfortunately.

He is the only viable candidate on the roster right now. Becton missed 2 consecutive seasons, can he be relied on to play a full season? Mitchell likely will not return due to the blood clots.
Dont think the Jets go into the season with only Becton at Tackle

Trey Smith, the OL from Tennessee/KC Chiefs had same issue while playing in college, sophomore year I believe. Not sure of the treatments but he ended up playing most of junior and senior seasons and his first couple of pro seasons. I'm hopeful Max M returns as he would be perfect in role as swing tackle/insurance.

I think he knows how to be a good tackle, his knees just don't know how to hold the guy upright, that is the trouble.

I also, don't think the new scheme suited him either, certainly not his knees.

Kinda curious about the scheme, how is the run game that Hackett likes to run any different from our previous scheme and the Tennessee scheme (Keith Carter).

I meant the scheme change from Gase to the Shanahan Offense employed by MLF/OL coaches, I'm unaware that Becton has played Hackett's scheme yet?

Same issue, different cause.
I hope the kid recovers fully and can play without issue .
