Enthusiasm or insanity?

Jets faithful, is it enthusiasm or insanity that I'm getting sorta excited about the season. Training camp has begun and although yesterday was the first day, their saying Hack looked the best out of all three QBs. Yes I know it really means nothing. Their not in pads and he throwing with no pressure at all. We're not even at the preseason games yet.

So yes I know it means nothing but then again, does it??? Is it possible Hack has made that step and is ready to atleast beat out his current competition and start all 16 games? I'll leave it that and won't even start thinking about is he ready to be a franchise QB yet. I just would like to see him play all 16 games to see if he is capable of being a decent QB atleast.

Then there is the rest of the team:

-Oline, are they ready to play decent enough to protect and open holes for throws and runs?
- Will Powell be the man or will the rookie take over majority of the carries? Or will it be old man Forte carrying the load?
-Are the young core WRs ready to make an impact?
-Is the young TE combo ready to make an impact?
-Will the D as a whole make their mark? What will the rookie starting safeties do? Dline ready to cause havoc on teams? Will the young LBs and DBs start and lead the way or the vets?
-Will the CS coach, motivate and build this team into winners?
-Will Mac and the scouts build off the this youth movement and continue in the right direction?

-Either way on all these points, I don't expect this team to win more then 5 games and that's if their lucky. That's not really my thought process this year and I'm ok with that. I just want to see if the young core players, especially at the key spots like QB, will Hack make his mark and claim this team as his? I wonder will they play and make the games competitive atleast. So my question is even though I know it will be a losing season, I still looking forward and getting excited. The jitters are starting to come. So I wonder is this enthusiasm or insanity?

Enthusiasm and Insanity are all part of being an dedicated fan. There's always hope before the season starts that the Jets could somehow find the holy grail and surprise people. My two hopes are that the defense grows to be one of the best in the league and can carry over to next year and more importantly either Hackenberg plays like he's our next franchise guy or he just completely sucks and we know our mission in the draft next year. Opening day just around the corner...

That pretty much sums up my feelings as well. I'm definitely enthusiastic about the prospect of seeing how some of the young players develop this year, not about the win-loss record. I guess the last part tempers the insanity part somewhat.

Lol, this is what makes me wonder is this insanity because I could care less if they lose every game this year. All I want to see is the youngsters play, mainly Hack and I want to see them play hard and all 60 minutes of the games. I want to see them come together and show they are developing into a true threat and contender in the near future. Now obviously losing all 16 games will probably not show that, they should atleast win a few games but you get my point.

I've never been so excited the watch what I know will be a losing team this year, Lol. Lastly, Hack is the key here. We have to see as NCgreen12 said in his post is Hack our QB or does he suck that bad that we know we're drafting a QB with the top five pick next year? The Jets will be drafting in the top five regardless next year. I think we all can agree on that but what position? If Hack shows he can be our guy then the Jets can draft the best olinemen or another position of need. If he sucks then we know what the draft pick will be.

for me it is always optimism on how the youth develops... never expect the team to be outstanding then they get on a roll and it is fun to be a fan but if they struggle, is it just one person not capable of doing his job or is it the entire team lacking the continuity or skill to be an effect group...

last year we saw some bright spots in Leonard Williams, Darryl Roberts, Rontez Miles and Jordan Jenkins on defense that gives you hope for a brighter future... On offense seeing the development of Q growing into much more than anyone would of thunk... Seeing Bilal Powell showcase he has what it takes to be the guy... These are all promising things in a team to build upon...

We all hope that they can come together quicker and become a juggernaut now rather than developing into one possibly over time... But Rome wasn't built in a day and neither will this team but at least now they have found the light at the end of tunnel and are striving to have a better brighter future...
