Holy crap...I'll take Mettenberger that didn't look good. I think the kid looked awesome. Does he need to work On Touch? Sure. But the kid went out there and attacked defenses. He has a rifle and pushes the ball down the field. He looked like a young Kerry Collins, Bledsoe, or Flacco. Is he a statue? Yep. But the kid can play. If Titans go QB, I'd see if Gaily like Mettenberger and offer a 2nd in a second if he does. Mettenberger can play right now and be successful, maybe a top 15 QB with our WRs and coaches. Mariota in 2 maybe 3 years from being able to play at a non-Geno to date capability. Let them take Mariota and dangle Mettenberger.

That's kinda where I am with this also, although I am leaning Edge/OLB because the depth is greater at WR and we should be able to get a good one at #37 .

Don't be upset if we don't go WR at all early. I think pass rusher at 6 and RB 37...Gordon or gurley if there. Gaily doesn't have a RB on the roster that truly fits his system, IMO. He needs a natural pass catcher with some burst. If the kid can develop into a full time back, even better.

Is Duke Johnson that guy, and if so will he last to #70 ? I will also be very interested to see what the new coaching staff and front office thinks of our collection of misfit toys (WRs-Evans, Enunwa, Owusa(sp?), Salas,etc.). If they think that one of them can develop in Gailey's system, you may be right about not picking one early.

That would absolutely SUCK. Sure, I agree with going BAP. But adding a WR when we have SH*T at QB is the worst scenario we could possibly go through.

This team needs a QB and they should have the cahunes to go get one no matter where they need to go.

So you want us to draft 3rd round pick "the guy from Baylor" at #6 ?

Well, Zach as a rookie completed 60%, 1400 yards, 8 TDs and 7 INts in 6 games...and few cupcakes:

Not too many (any) cup cakes there, and for a rookie, I think he stood out. His game against the steelers really impressed me. His team sucks, no doubt...but at half he had completed something like 9 passes...but they were for 150+ yards...he finished the game with only 15 completions...but for 263. He just kept gunning down the field and challenging that secondary with his band of misfits at WR...and they were right there and lost 24-27. Then the very next week he went to Philly and lit them up like a Christmas tree for 350 (again, throwing to who?). The kid can play.

give me Mettenberger's arm throwing to Decker, Amaro, and Marshall all day. He's a Wr's dream QB.

...but do we know he will be there at 70? I dont know that. i do know we need a Rb though, and if the #1 RB in the draft is there at #37 , do you pass him up and risk not getting the #1 rb or Johnson being there at #70 ? i dont know. I would bet Gordon and Gurley have nice draft grades on them and both or 1 being there at #37 .

If the Raiders snag Cooper @ 4, I'd have to go OLB because White WR still scares me. Yeah he had a fantastic one year @ WVU, and a unbelievable Combine work-out, but what if he's a "flash in the pan" ? Here's my order @ 6:
1) Cooper
2) Fowler
3) Gregory
4) Beasley
5) White

No one will be bitching if we add Cooper to our team. He's a player. I still think with the depth of WR, and the fact that all the good OLB's are gone by top of round 2, will dictate our pick.

We can get a good WR later in the draft but we will miss the impact rush LB's if we wait.

I wouldn't say the team has depth at receiver...many guys we hope can make a leap but we don't know how this regime feels about them. Both Marshall and Decker dealt with injuries and missed time last season. Cooper would be excellent in Gaily's offense and would give the team options going next season with both Marshall and Decker.
