FA Wish list

I thought it would be fun for everyone to put together there wish list. Let's try to keep is realistic as much as possible.

QB - I'd really like to see us bring in a young guy who still has potential. Glennon or Mallet would be nice. I know trades are likely needed.

WR - D. Thomas - don't see us getting a chance at him though. Cobb could be a fall back but I don't see it happening. I think draft is most likely.
WR - restructure Harvin

OL - G - Mike Iupati - we need to make a big splash here.

CB - Kareem Jackson or Maxwell fit the system well. Shouldn't cost a fortune but will get decent size deals

LB - Brooks Reed - can play both inside and out. Better outside I think with a great motor. Will be fairly cheap.

Mostly from here I look to the draft. With these moves I think we are a lot better.

With Milliner and McDougle, I sense CB will be addressed more in FA than the draft. Kareem Jackson would be an excellent fit. I could see Maxwell. But FA is the way to go.

WR, I'm not sure where they go. A lot depends on the first week of FA. Harvin's pick escalation is just over a week into FA, so they have to make up their mind on that quickly. With Kerley and Decker, I'd be fine letting him walk, if someone else was brought in before that deadline. But I wouldn't want to chance creating a hole and hoping it can be filled in the draft. Either land a Thomas or keep Harvin. Restructuring? Not sure I'd do that, because while that may lessen the cap hit this year, it would require guaranteed money, which could tie the team's hands in the future. The Jets have a ton of cap space this year, so why restructure Harvin and create the possibility of dead money in the future?

QB, if a younger legit guy was available, fine. But I'm not sure he is. I'd rather draft a QB and bring in a veteran who could do more to mentor, and maybe guide a transition. Fitzpatrick, whose physical skills don't thrill me, but he is incredibly smart, can teach a rookie and Geno about reads and progressions, and would bring knowledge of Gailey's system, would make a good fit. I know he's not available immediately, but that could change. Ideally, to me, a rookie, Geno, and a legit veteran with a good head who is smart at making reads would be the perfect combo.

OL needs to be addressed, and I think it could be in both FA and the draft. I'd consider drafting a tackle who could start out at RT, but be the LT of the future for when Ferguson is done, and signing a guard. Maybe Iupati, maybe Franklin. Maybe Boling from Cinci?

So this would require bringing in a starting CB, either keeping Harvin or signing another starting WR, bringing in a vet QB, and signing a guard. I think all that can be done with enough left over to extend Mo and Snacks.
