A fan has died after falling 60 feet over a stairwell railing on the north end of Sports Authority Field.
The Associated Press reported the incident occurred while the fan -- later identified as 36-year-old Jason Coy -- was leaving the stadium following the Broncos' Monday Night Football game.
At 9:44 p.m. MT, or thereabouts, a 911 call was placed for emergency assistance. Coy was rushed to Denver Health and pronounced dead late Tuesday morning, according to the Denver Channel.
Before his death was confirmed, the Broncos released the following statement, “A fan was taken to the hospital after falling over a stairwell railing at Sports Authority Field at Mile High shortly after Monday night’s game. Our thoughts are with the injured fan, and we are in the process of learning more about this incident from the Denver Police Department’s investigation."
