Looks like you all are having a lot of fun with this. I am tempted to do one but it doesn't look to me like a lot of the drafts are realistic. I am not sure how accurate the simulator is.

If you dont trade, I think it is accurate enough to be fun and a good education about the draft

with trades, it gets silly

Draft Simulator

http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/draft.php

I have been addicted to this site for the last 2 days... I have simulated our first 4rds with many different variations and I honestly haven't been upset with one sim yet. This draft is so good thru 4 rds. It's nuts the players that are available at our spot in the first 4rds. I literally have a hard time picking cause there are always 3-4 guys to choose from and that's after eliminating the position of the player I took in the rd before...

Example from my last sim

Rd 1 - WR Cooper
Rd 2 - DE Eli Harrold
Rd 3 - G Laken Tomlinson - I struggled here wanted to go with a RB so many good ones but this need was bigger
Rd 4 - QB Bryce Petty

I'll take these first 4 pick, if it went down like this....

Lou, If the draft turns out like this, I will fly to Vegas and take you out for dinner (after we stop by and meet Rick, Big Hoss, Chumblee & the Old Man @ the Pawn Store)!!!!
You know I love Cooper & Harold @ 1 & 2, but I doubt very seriously Laken Tomlinson G from Duke will make it out of the 2nd round. Laken is the most underrated OL in this draft. And then Petty @ 104 would be my dream draft.

Go Jets...Cyborg

I'll make the reservations (a steakhouse of course) and I have a friend that works at the Pawn Store, so I got the hook up there for you as well. I take care of my Jets brothers!!

HYATT™

USED: Draftek
HYATT™ is familiar with DraftTek, having been a Packers consultant for them until they chose to go with Jersey Al's 2nd ranked advice over HYATT™'s - mostly because he thought along the same lines as the people who run that site, whereas HYATT™ has always been an outside the box thinker and usually more correct than they are, even with all their computerized ranking.
Year after Year HYATT™'s own predictions are closer to the Packers actual GM draft product than DraftTek's, with Jersey Al's assistance.

Don't get HYATT™ wrong, Al runs the 3rd most popular Packers fan site & is a great Packers fan, but his intuition into the Packers draft process leaves something to be desired because of his homerism.

While HYATT™ is a heavy user of DraftTek's site, it MUST be taken as a part of the whole & combined with the opinions and rankings from at least a dozen other nearly equally reliable draft services.
NFLDraftScout, for one, is usually a lot closer to the actual draft mark than DraftTek is.

Why and where does DraftTek go so wrong?
Their team consultants have to spend quite a bit of time sending in opinions, which produces mainly homer consultants - like Jersey Al - who are probably visible elsewhere as fan favorites with the rest of the jersey worshipers.

Visibility does not often correlate to correctness, as we've all seen reflected in the opinions of many of the major media bobblehead opinions over the years.
They are a self-contained closed loop, regurgitating what each other think and say, so as to not risk stepping out on a limb and breaking off the branch.
It's impossible to fault a blogger who got it wrong if everyone else got it wrong too - or at least fire him or her over that incorrectness.
DraftTek's biggest error is in continuing to rely on that self-contained closed loop of consultants.
GIGO - Garbage In, Garbage Out.

Because they are homers, they almost ALWAYS base their opinions on their favorite team's NEEDS, when in reality most GMs HATE being forced into making draft selections based on team needs and try as hard as possible to stick to the BPA philosophy.
NEEDS picks are highly likely to end up going badly, as often as not, while BPA picks tend to work out most of the time, even if not as successfully as initially hoped.

DraftTek's algorithms end up making rankings and Mock Draft selections based almost entirely on team NEEDS, which is WHY they fail. They do not reflect critical GM thinking in most cases, but rather the hopes, dreams, and desires of HOMER FAN CONSULTANTS.
A guaranteed recipe for failure, in HYATT™'s book of NFL drafting.
Still, HYATT™ uses them for a lot of reasons other than actual Mock draft order, and their information is conveniently accessible.
Use DraftTek, but use it with a grain of salt, as one should with anyone's opinions - including yours truly's.

anyone have a sense about how often these simulations update their draft boards? like the Ray and Collins news?

Does it really matter?
The only one using a computer is DraftTek & they re-run irregularly at best. Plus even theirs is still based on fallible human input by team "advisers".

went back to firstpick site for one more run at the simulation. Traded out of 6 but just down to 9. Utter lack of realism, but I would love this draft:

Round 1 Pick 9 (NYG): Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama (A+)
Round 2 Pick 5: T.J. Clemmings, OT, Pittsburgh (A)
Round 2 Pick 8 (NYG): Eric Kendricks, ILB/OLB, UCLA (A)
Round 3 Pick 6: Tre' Jackson, OG, Florida State (A-)
Round 3 Pick 10 (NYG): T.J. Yeldon, RB, Alabama (A-)
Round 4 Pick 5: Derron Smith, FS, Fresno State (A)
Round 7 Pick 6: Max Valles, OLB, Virginia (A)
Round 7 Pick 7: Tyler Varga, FB, Yale (A)

I just did a 2016 five rounder for the Jets:

RD 1 (26). Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State
RD 2. Jack Conklin, OT, Michigan State
RD 3. Spencer Drango, T/G, Baylor
RD 4. Josh Dctson, WR, TCU
RD 5. Trevone Boykin, QB, TCU

I know Ivory is a beast, but his running style is no conducive to a long career and besides that, a RBBC of Ivory and Elliott could be the best RB tandem in all of professional football, and the way we play defense, watch out!

We need to get younger on the O-line, and I mean with real blue chippers, and thats what Conklin and Drango would provide. Conklin is a legit LT prospect to good behind Brick, and Drango is a blue-chip RT/OG prospect.

Dctson has terrific size and he is tearing up college football as we speak. Frankly i would be a miracle to get his player in he 4th RD, but he was available in this mock draft so I scooped him up without hesitation.

Boykin reminds me a lot of Russell Wilson, what he lack in his, he makes up for with tremendous playmaking ability. IMO its a smart add in RD 5 to compete with Bryce Petty.

Lastly, I wish I could have added an elite edge rusher, but I took the value in each spot.

whoa nellie - no one for the D-LIne?!?
We have the leagues #1 defense with a slew of first round picks, so I figured its time to really start concentrating on the offense. I went offense with all five picks. The only defense I even considered was a pass rushing outside linebacker, but the value on offense with each proceeding pick outweighed the value at edge rusher.
