knocking the patriots out of the playoffs in NE was simply epic..tough one but I will stick to the 2000s. The Curtis Martin snow game against the Steelers and the game against Green Bay to get in the playoffs. The blowout playoff win against the Colts was pretty great too. Ah, hell, the win against the Pats in the playoffs has to be the tops for me actually. That was a sweet moment
I remember both of your moments. I was actually at that Bengals game. What would we have done without Brad Smith. I don't remember if he scored a big run on a wild cat play or if it was on a kick return. It was FREEZING. I was well dressed but didn't wear good enough socks. I was in the upper deck. All my friends except for one left early since the game was in hand but we stayed til the end. It was great.
That gb game was great. Still remember the crowd going nuts watch Vinateri kick one right through the uprights to help the jets advance. I think I put that as my fav moment of not, it's def up there!
o'brien to walker for a 40 something yard TD pass for the win??It was incredible, but the coldest I have ever been at a sporting event.
And how could I forget that great 51-45 game against Miami? I wasn't there in person, but that ranks as one of my favorite Jets games of all time.

How that game was lost my MiamiYep 43 to be exact in overtime. Kenny 4 tds Marino 6 the Fins as usual had no running game and we were without Freeman but Hector and others did the job.

Amazing coincidence, hobson54I think I've told this story on our prior board, but I was at that game, which definitely goes down as my favorite jets memory.
my dad took me to the game and he wanted to leave early to beat the traffic. when the dolphins scored to go up 45-38, lots of people started to leave. i remember the guy in front of us saying "you can bet your house on it these bums are gonna lose" and he proceeded to leave. my dad asked if i wanted to go, and i said no, i wanted to stay through the end. he usually got tickets to take me to 1 game a year through a co-worker (he's a giants fan), so this was my only game for the year. fortunately he relented and the rest is history.
The difficulty in answering this is deciding when the cutoff is wherein one is no longer a child, but the truth is that many of us are kids again every Sunday so even though I was out of school and working by the third game on my list below, I still felt like a kid, so ...
Funny but some of the greatest moments were losses:
1. First FB game at Shea: Loss to KC in '66, but seeing a game live for the first time was life changing, Not sure if it was for the better or the worse.
2. Early 70's at Shea vs 49ers, Namath had been hurt for over a year. He was activated for that game, but Bob Davis started instead. Davis got injured and while he was laying on the ground, Namath took off his jacket and started warming up. The crowd started to go crazy. By the time he gimped onto the field, everyone was standing and screaming. It was the loudest Shea crowd I've ever heard, maybe even louder than games 6 & 7 in the '86 World Series. Joe almost brought them way back for the win. Very exciting game
3. (counting the '81 season as one event) The Barkum catch to win '81 Dolphins game and the aforementioned Bills playoff game. That Miami game was critical and after years of futility, the franchise turned a corner. For the Bills game, we were just amazed at getting a home game and the future looked bright. Although it was a loss, it too was a very exciting game
In general, the fondest memories that come to mind is Namath throwing bombs to Maynard, Sauer and Turner, just being at season ticket holder at Shea and hanging with some great folks
Worst memories include that Thursday night first game at Giants Stadium in '84 vs Pitt. I remember us talking about how much it was going to suck playing in someone else's stadium. We were right. It didn't help that after years in the Mezz Reserve at about the 15 yd line to lower level end zone at Giants Stadium
