Gase did nothing to be hired, he wasn't the Jets choice, but Peyton Manning called Chris Johnson and changed his mind. That's how Gase got the job. It's also how he got the Miami job.

We saw Gase completely out coached today by a first year HC with by far the worst roster in the NFL. Sadly, I don't believe he will be fired this week,this season or this off-season.
No, that run may still happen. Enough to get to 5 or 6 wins - and to wreck a good draft spot.
He's not as bad, no. The team is worse. I don't think he's an awful owner, though.
The question is, do we want an interventionist owner who steps in? Or do we want an owner who just spends the money and stays out of the picture? A case can be made for either.

Jamal: I'm pissed Chris , I went to Coach Gase and Douglas on Fri and told them I wanted to be a Jet for life. The swore I was not on the trade block. Then Monday my agent and my uncle who's with the Cowboys told me Douglas called them and said I was available for a trade.
Chris: I understand just how you feel. My agent called me on Monday and told me Gase and Douglas reached out to the 31 other teams and tried to trade me for a conditional 7th rounder.
