I hated writing it almost as much as you guys hated hearing it because it is true and I don't believe the Jets really need Rogers or a super star QB to be competitive. The players the Jets have at the start of next season need the right incentive to perform the way they are expected to. If that happens a good QB will be sufficient. As far as hunting with me I'm afraid that you would hate the long periods of boredom you'd have to endure. It only gets exciting if a bear runs towards me after I shoot it. Then the smell of my pants immediately after. Afraid I can't help you either Tebow, although I understand completely how you feel. It seems that hunting people for us average citizens is illegal. BUT........we can't write next season off until we at least see what the make up of the team roster and front office is.
Each season we can write the next season off. That’s nothing new

I don't really understand these things but according to the analysts......

If we cut Rodgers or he retires we incur a $49 million dead cap charge. By making it a post-June 1 cut we could spread it $14 million in 2025 and $35 million in 2026.

If Rodgers returns his dead cap charge goes up to $63 million in 2026. By making a post-June 1st cut we could spread this between 2025 & 2026.
I hope that’s wrong. Who would ever agree to that!

Your first analogy, him being cut, I believe is correct. The second I'm not sure about.......because....... it could possibly be affected by any pay cuts or salary and contract changes both parties agree to. Rogers has said that he is not really concerned about the money because he has plenty. He just loves the game and enjoys playing. His words but maybe not exactly that I heard him tell an interviewer. That being said we really don't know how they might restructure his contract to play in 2025. He may be 41 and not the player he once was but we know from other financial breaks he has given the Jets that he is not greedy. So I personally would not care to speculate on that situation.

Well..........so far none have ever got to me but a couple over the years did make my heart skip a beat when they turned my way. If I had known you wanted a bear rug I could have sent the hide from the last one to you. I threw it away. I don't eat that part. You would have had to get it tanned but that's not a big deal. ;)

I didn't mention that because Rodgers has already taken a pay cut, and having to go 'cap' in hand to him may affect our ability to get rid of Hackett and Lazard. Rodgers would be the de facto GM and the bind would go on and on.

It's the bear decorating its cave with a Gramoah rug that we're worried about. :sweatingitout:
Fortunately, I still kill what I shoot at with one shot. That's why my hunting buddies call me Grandpa One Shot. Yeah all my hunting buddies are youngsters 30 to 65 years old. The older hunters we know can't keep up.

That's a valid point, but I think Rogers knows they are both gone even if he does stay. He as much as said that in a recent interview. He said, and I'm not quoting him exactly, that he realized that big changes were coming and he knows that's part of the business. He also said that if he decides not to retire he would like to come back to the Jets.

I would rather have Gase at this point.
No you wouldn’t
But yea I would have canned him already
GAMEDAY !!!

Props to anyone attending a game like this in this weather. True Jets fans, or nuts. Probably both like most of you jamooks.
oh I’ve attended more than 50 years of these games in worse weather .
And more than 10 years of them siting on metal portable bleachers in the closed end of Shea.
I really wish I could go back to one of them with my Dad and the gang.

One thing for sure, after the first few winters at Shea, you learned quickly how to dress for the cold.

Our first year was on the "home plate" metal benches. You had to bring cardboard to sit on.

How about coldest game? The '69 playoff game comes to mind or that last game ever at Giants Stadium?
