Actually, I should say that Mac and Jacqueline Davidson have done a great job with the cap. She seems to be one smart and creative lady!

Well, I would just suggest that dilfer,McMahon, and Payton manning in Denver were sub par super bowl QB's because of elite defenses.

Not sure if we will get there this year, but we do have some good pieces, and our offense is better than the Ravens and broncos were. We are more balanced than they were, but so are some other tans this year.

I'm not sure why McMahon is lumped in there with the others, other than that his Bears had the dominant D. McMahon was a really, really good QB who was tougher than nails.

Fair enough, but being the qb of an all time great d means you get looked over.

Some of the comments :" Fitz will flop". " Hope the season goes fast"
"See what Geno can do with weapons" " Start hack or Petty"

Are all mind boggling

The new NFL is a worst to first league players and teams come out of nowhere to win and teams that are supposed to win don't .
We have our QB back who won 10 games last year
That's a good thing

I sat through 3 straight 3-11 seasons in the 70s and
I cant imagine how some of these fans would handle that.

Let's Go Jets!

I think if Geno was the QB for those 3-13 Jets teams, you'd still have some fans saying:

"Give him another shot, he hasn't reached his true potential yet."

Jim McMahon jumped around after the Bears drafted Mike Tomczak and Jim Harbaugh. He went on to play with the Chargers, Eagles, Vikings, Cardinals,Browns then collected his second superbowl playing behind Brett Favre in Green bay.
6 Teams... Journey man QB.

Yes he was one tough SOB... Just like our boy Ryan Fitzpatrick, another Journey man QB .

Couldn't be happier this deal got done. But I'm also very happy for Mac with this also, the alternative to signing Fitz would have probably ended Mac's career in NY. At least we can all know the Jets are fielding their vry best this season.

I feel Fitz will not be even close to as successful as last year. I sure hope I'm wrong. Just like fans point out that Geno has never been successful and has shown his true colors, I feel Fitz has shown over a long career to really struggle in cold weather, big games and vs. good opponents. He has a chance to show me something and change my mind if he can go 5-1 or 4-2 or at least 3-3 in the first six games. If he struggles like vs. Buffalo last year twice or the countless other times vs. good teams in the past then I will be ready to move on this year or next year. At the end of the day the defense will have to play lights out vs. some pretty good offenses to keep the games close. The most telling stat I have heard about Fitz is that he is 16-61 when other teams score 17 or more points.

I trust Fitz more than Geno. I like Fitz as a leader and as a mentor. I also know Geno has never played with real weapons. I trust Mac and Bowles to make the right decisions. I'm ready to get the season started to see what this team can do. We have a lot of talent so that won't be the issue.

Well, considering the schedule is frontloaded, you are basically setting up expectations that you know would be tough for Fitz to reach.

The second half of the schedule is much kinder than the first half. So perhaps we should judge the whole season.

I love the over simplified requirements for success.

I honestly think if this team is healthy and plays to their ability, we will be fine in the first 6 games. Worth a veteran team, week 6 is when they can get fatigued. Combined with the short weeks, is where we get into trouble.

However, you could look at it in a positive light. When vets get tired, the schedule eases up.

We just have to watch the games and see.

Important for us, but much more so for the team.
