Four game suspension UPHELD

NFL Statement:

"In the opinion informing Brady that his appeal had been denied, Commissioner Goodell emphasized important new information disclosed by Brady and his representatives in connection with the hearing.
On or shortly before March 6, the day that Tom Brady met with independent investigator Ted Wells and his colleagues, Brady directed that the cell phone he had used for the prior four months be destroyed. He did so even though he was aware that the investigators had requested access to text messages and other electronic information that had been stored on that phone. ‎During the four months that the cell phone was in use, Brady had exchanged nearly 10,000 text messages, none of which can now be retrieved from that device. The destruction of the cell phone was not disclosed until June 18, almost four months after the investigators had first sought electronic information from Brady.
"Based on the Wells Report and the evidence presented at the hearing, Commissioner Goodell concluded in his decision that Brady was aware of, and took steps to support‎, the actions of other team employees to deflate game footballs below the levels called for by the NFL's Official Playing Rules. The commissioner found that Brady’s deliberate destruction of potentially relevant evidence went beyond a mere failure to cooperate in the investigation and supported a finding that he had sought to hide evidence of his own participation in the underlying scheme to alter the footballs."

Very satisfying to me personally that none of the gibberish presented by Brady's team of lawyers managed to unseat the conclusion that the balls were manually deflated. The science stands!

NFLPA declined opportunity for John Jastremski and Jim McNally to testify in Brady appeals hearing. Not a good look for Brady.

Evidently, the league offered Brady and the union the chance for Jastremski and McNally to testify. The union refused.

For a guy looking to clear his name, he doesn't want any evidence or testimony to reach the light of day. It's like he just expects to be exonerated because...well, because he's Tom Brady.

What a spoiled, entitled prick.

Guessing that by taking this to court, the suspension gets delayed and Brady plays until a decision is rendered.

Tom Brady & NFLPA will see the NFL in court. 2 options: fast-track it with an injunction or slow-play, keep it going until after the season

he runs the risk that the court hears the case in the middle of the season and his suspension (if not overturned) could apply late in the season or in the playoffs.

that's true. I wonder if the Pats will just try to encourage him to take the suspension and move on.

That would be amazing if they lost in playoffs because of him being such a pathetic douche!!

Nah. I'd even throw in the Cowboys. Let 'em start 0-4. Seeing them beaten by the Jags would be great.

It wouldn't surprise me if Cheats traded for Glennon. NE and TB are butt buddies and I don't think Bellicheat trusts his backup.

Sources just told me Brady camp will definitely be filing for an injunction to put the four game suspension on hold.

Brady destroying cell phone looks really bad. But phone records show that the NFL already had all the texts between Brady and Jasrtemeski.

Tom Brady is looking more guilty every day that passes. He thought his reputation would get him off the hook. Good for the NFL having the balls to stand by it's decision.

The Boston media is a complete Joke. If this happened in New York to the Giants and Eli Manning , they would get killed in the media, Suoerbowls or not. Can't find one voice on WEEI calling them out

the nfl filed with the federal court in NY to have the ruling affirmed. it was a proactive move to try and get the NY federal court to hear any appeal before the NFLPA filed an appeal in minnesota or boston where they may have gotten a more favorable ruling (minny is where the AP suspension was overturned by judge doty)

1) Last line of statement from Pats on NFL ruling on Brady is pretty bitter:

2) "It is incomprehensible as to why the league is attempting to destroy the reputation of one of its greatest players and representatives."

LOL!!
