Per tweet from Schefter: Fox declined HC interview with Jets, per NFL source. Hard to imagine turning down one HC chance unless there's real chance for another.

I do love how Casserly and Wolf are leaving no stone unturned. They are trying to find the right fit for this team. Wonder what is taking so long for them to announce the GM.

I don't think Fox wants the Northeast and this is probably his last gig. IMO he is not the guy for the Jets.

What is up with that? Several sources saying this is true? Weird. If that actually came from Fox's camp he just screwed himself with most teams.

If Fox wants another HC job right now, he'll get one

Jets Blog says he would accept an interview with Jets -- if one were offered.

For making 4 million this year and then getting interviews next year? How do I fail like this? :wtf: lol

We'll see how this goes . It's interesting that he was like the hottest item, and now I don't see anything about him. I think if he doesn't get a HC job this year he might be in trouble. he got his 4 million, he could have made 20 if he stayed with his contract.

It's officially the NFL's silly season.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday night that John Fox, who parted ways with the Broncos earlier in the day after four seasons as head coach, had turned down an interview request with the Jets for their vacant head coaching position.
A few things: The Jets have not, in fact, reached out to Fox to ask for an interview. And according to a person familiar with Fox's thinking who spoke on condition of anonymity because he or she was not authorized to talk publicly on the matter, Fox would be willing to talk if the Jets were to reach out to him. Which—once more, with feeling—they still haven't done. That person added that Fox intends to keep all of his options open. And Schefter, in a noble nod to transparency, later acknowledged he had been wrong.
Make sense?
In addition to the Jets and Broncos, the 49ers, Falcons, Bears, and Raiders are all still looking for a head coach. Fox, who coached the Panthers and the Broncos to the Super Bowl 10 years apart and has a record of 127-95 (including playoffs) in 13 seasons as an NFL head coach, figures to get plenty of interest.
The Jets have already interviewed six candidates for their vacant head coaching position. One of them, Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, plans to interview for a second time. And a seventh candidate, Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott, is slated to interview for the first time on Wednesday.

@RapSheet: Notes from my time on @NFL_AM today: #Bears job is the 1 John Fox wants, and he’s expected to interview. May not get #Falcons consideration

I think the job he really covets is taking over the Giants in 2016 when Mara fires Coughlin

Sadly Fox getting booted in Denver messes up his timing

Kind of throws me for a loop that the Jets haven't yet reached out to John Fox or even Adam Gase? I understand they are all good coaches but I feel a lot more comfortable with those 2 over Bowles, Cable, and definitely McDermott. Just my opinion though. I want Fox as HC.

Quinn....wink wink...is already not signed and...wink wink...is not recruiting his coaching staff....

because...wink wink..the Jets wouldn't be allowed to make the deal final
