Game Thread: Jets at Lions

After only 24 hrs removed from what was arguably the most insane day in Jets history, there was some positive plays by players to build on:

Deon Simon, Mouldon, Bilal Powel, Petty, CB Williams, Trevor Reilly, Ivory, Marshall, Fitzpatrick (if Cumberland holds onto a very catchable ball we'd be feeling much better) all made some key plays and showed promise

And I guess your the biggest pim pom waiver for our new starting QB that one it by default.

you have to agree you cant make that penalty...film room is going to be a nightmare for that guy...that is pop warner dumb...just got finished with a timeout, talking to your coach, and you immediately jump off sides...and your head was over the ball #SMH

There is nothing in football more demoralizing than not having a QB

If you don't have one of those, it sucks all the life out of your team.

Next year we have to trade OUR WHOLE DRAFT if need be, whatever it takes to move up for a franchise QB

So far Todd Bowles has been a real disappointment, on and off the field.

Off the field his team is immature and undisciplined, and on the field his team looks like sh*t.

I know, its early, but as first impressions go ... not good.

I think he has showed poise in the face of adversity. His team could have easily played as if they all received a punch in the face and didn't totally crumble. They are down a TD on the road at halftime with some new players who will contribute make some plays. This game had disaster written all over it from every angle and hasn't and Bowles has kept the team as focused as possible after 24 hrs of madness.

on the flip side i think petty showed some nice awareness i saw him pick up a couple blitz's if the game can slow down for him he could take the job by next year.

I dont know why so many posters are acting like there isnt a huge Rex Ryan stench to this game...everything from dumb penalties, bad roughing the passer calls, shanked punts, unable to convert 3rd downs, and unable to stop teams on 3rd down..

...but we're supposed to pretend "its just preseason." Well, that is true...I 100% agree. But again, both teams are playing vanilla, not just the jets, and one team is playing, and one team is being played...I know some jets fans dont care if their team walks into the middle of the field and get kicked in the nuts repeatedly...I thinks it's a shame to play for your coach that way...
