No, I want a real QB, we know what Geno is and we know what Fitz is. If it isn't Petty then move on and draft another. If you want to be an OK team and hope to step in it I do get that.

I am happy starting next season with Fitz and transitioning to Petty mid-year. Fitz is not a franchise qb but he played lights out this year. Set our franchise records. Keep adding weapons and he will continue doing that. He's smart and takes what the defense gives him.

well i'm all in favor of drafting another QB (not necessarily in round 1 since it doesn't appear to be a loaded QB draft) and having fitz, petty and rookie on the roster. fitz is still the starter of this team, but you should also be grooming some young guys to take over.

franchise QBs don't just grow on trees. right now, fitz gives us the best chance to win. you look to upgrade the roster, replace some dead wood, and hope the team as a whole gets better (including the coaches). maybe fitz doesn't have as big of a year statistically. maybe he does better. but i'm not pulling the plug on him now.

So you want him at what cost? 10M? 18M? I'll take him at 8M for 1 year.

This was a fun season but I didn't get my hopes up because deep down I had a feeling that this crap against Rex would happen. Fuck that guy.

Having said that, it's a travesty we are watching from home but Texans are in with a 7-9 record or whatever it is. I am optimistic for next season but am wondering if Fitz can replicate the year he's had.

We have a lot to be proud of and build on. Maybe it bodes well that we missed the playoffs. The team will come back hungry.

I still think that they should realign the system to get rid of the divisional construct and just let the teams with the six best records in each conference go to the playoffs ...

We definitely need a 3rd option at receiver. Powell's injury made a significant difference today. Our screen game was ineffective without him. The other receivers aren't consistent threats.

no doubt. they exceeded my expectation but it still hurts.

but overall, i'm happy with the progress of the team in year 1 of the macc/bowles era. i'm sure the chicken littles here, including those who wrote us off when fitz became the starter and called for bryce petty mid-season, will have a field day ripping into the coaches and the players. but the jets gave me more than i expected this year. doesn't lessen the sting of the loss. but i'm not buying the SOJ loser mentality that is so prevalent with a large segment of the "fan" base

I guess I'm one of the chicken littles your talking about but whatever! All I have to say is they didn't want it bad enough. This is another game that the team as a whole gave away. It was a better season then the 4 win season last year but hurts the same to get so close and not get in this year. The owner, GM, HC and team as a whole did well this year as opposed to last year and I guess maxed themselves out at 10 wins. Regardless of that, Rex Ryan now believes he has shown this team, his team and the world he is a better coach then Bowles and they should have never let him go. I disagree with that 1, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000 percent but no one can tell him different now. Atleast till next season when they beat the Bills twice (hopefully) and rectify this sting!

A good run, but ultimately, a frustrating end to a season in an increasingly frustrating-to-watch league. Let's see what Mac has up his sleeve this offseason and go get 'em next year!

TOday was rough. Fitz was not good, but he had about 3 crucial drops. Why didn't we see more of Ivory? Not having Folk really hurt. The int in the end zone was a back breaker. I feel awful fro Mo. Revis did not look good, he had a fumble recovery, but should not have been left by himself on Watkins. We should of won this game. SHould of, could of, would of. Ughhh this is rough.

I think so too but does that get rid of divisional rivalries in any way? I think that is why leagues have been hesitant to get rid of divisions because of the chance that the importance of divisional games disappear.

Just like the Jets to win five in a row, win a thriller verses NE, then go piss the season away in Buffalo verses their former HC, who is RIGHT NOW dancing the Irish Jig on our graves ... and that was his only motivation for this game, beating us and pissing on our graves ... other than that, this game meant NOTHING for Buffalo and EVERYTHING for us.

You could still have the division games but just disregard the division winners as automatic playoff berths.
In the event of a tie, the winning of your division could be the first tiebreaker.

That way you don't have bad teams making the playoffs because they were the best of the worst.

It would also make for better games in the playoffs.

If the say, "Any Given Sunday" didn't mean anything and hold true to Jets fans, it does now. As Jets fans we have always dealt with sets backs and let downs. We now very well what any given Sunday can mean but we haven't felt it like this in a VERY LONG FUCKING TIME! DAMMIT!
