Game Thread: NY Jets vs NE Patriots

When the Jets have an embarrassing moment (Buttfumble), it's an example of them being a pathetic franchise that can't get out of its own way.

When the Pats have an embarrassing moment (screwing up the coin toss for OT), the Jets got lucky and the Pats are really great.

It's like there's a caveat to everything good the Jets do. They win a big game against the Evil Empire, and the reaction is "yeah, huh huh, well...they got a little lucky there, huh huh". Fitzpatrick took over in OT and did what good QB's do: win the game. Get in the endzone and keep their offense from ever seeing the field.

Period. End of story.

So pumped for so many reasons:

After going through such awful seasons with Rex we have steered this ship in the right direction

Beating Rex in the last game to get into the playoffs would be priceless

best moment captured:

I really love Fitzy. His teammates love him. He has the perfect temperament for NY.

And I'm really glad to see things working out well for Decker. He took a big risk coming to NY from Denver, and it's looking like a great decision for both him and his wife.

That OT TD drive was a thing of beauty, with our season on the line.

EPIC DRIVE and no media dbag can tarnish it for me.

I said at the beg that he is a great hold the fort QB but even I didn't see him being able to put the team onhis back like he has this year it really is a thing of beauty. Now hopefully you and everyone will believe that fitzy can indeed win a game for you.

Seems rather clear now that Pats made a knowing decision to kick in OT

The person who was dissed was Brady - Pats decided that they had a better chance of stopping the Jets and getting at least a FG than their chance of receiving the kick and scoring a TD

How deflated must be Belicheck's view of his offense that he would reach that decision?

ooops, did I say deflated......

And now because Billy boy made an asinine call to kick ,Bob Costas has a commentary that wants the OT rules changed
What a bunch of douchebags
I saw that too, the degree to which these media guys are on the Patriots strap is sickening. They lost a game in OT, so now we have to change the rules! Would he be saying that if the Jets lost? HELL BLEEPING NO.

I knew they were looking for answers when they did like 3 trick plays in a row.

I just want to say again, that to be at the stadium today was a great day
But,
My Dad ( the real,Bigmoe) whose been going with me for 44 years had to miss today because of double pneumonia .
I really would have enjoyed 100x more with him but he cheered us on from home.
I brought my nephew who enjoyed it immensely
Go Jets

I remember when the Jets faced the Eagles earrlier this season. Just about everyone thought not having Decker and Ivory were very costly losses because could not find enough weapond with those two missing.Fast forward to today and you see guys like Powell, Thompkins, and Enunwa making major contributions to this victory? This IMO is a testament to how this team has grown throughout the season.

They did it deliberately, and they did it wrong.

What they SHOULD have done, when winning the toss, is elected to defend the end zone they wanted, then leave it to the Jets to take the ball. You don't get to choose both whether you kick or receive and which end you defend. You get to choose one.

Aa expected, even after one of the dumbest Marty Mornhinweg, Abner Haynes ciaching screwups in NFL history the ass kissing national media is desperately searching for reasons why Stupidsh*t's decision to tell his captain to choose to kick if they won the OT coin toss was actually the correct choice and a brilliant one by the "genius"

Go to NFL mobile and read Battista's report if you don't belueve me

I was pleading for Revis on Gronk last game and we did not see it. Gronk burned us. I hope they mix this in, this time around

Finally we put Revis on Gronk. Many people didn't want to see which I did not understand. I just don't know why he wasn't assigned to him the last drive

Sorry to hear. Glad he's okay and the jets were able to win for him.

Good post. This team has grown immensely. I believe the injury to Devin Smith is a blessing in disguise. He wasn't ready to get big minutes but the coaching staff forced it. Thompkins is more of a natural for us in this role. Glad he's okay.

This team reminds me of the team we had in '98 lead by Vinny, who started out the backup to Foley. The Jets went from 6-4 at the 10 game mark, to win the last 6 games finishing 12-4. Coincidentally, this year's Jets started their streak 5-5, also after the 10 game mark. We all remember Fitz started as Geno's backup, but now what could and should be done with Geno. It's obvious Fitz will see his payday.

Another good example of the media with their tongues up Beli's sphincter.

I hate Pats fans and the media. They are saying the pats blew this game to keep steelers out. Then why did Belichek pull out all the tricks to beat us? Flea flicker, wild cat, reverses. Why did Gronk sacrifice his body on some of those plays. Steelers suck, their defense is Swiss cheese.
