The NFL combine radar gun...one of the worst 5 throwers in NFL combine history...just the facts.
But he was awesome on that drive. Also froze the lbs when staring down the dump off an returned to the wR for 1:1...perfect laser throw. That was awesome.

Who ever was saying Petty didn't have a good arm hasn't seen him play. One of the raps on Petty is that he throws to hot a ball, and over throws
Supe, remember we discussed the conflicting reports on Petty's arm strength and decided we'll wait till the preseason to determine the truth. Some reports suggested Petty had a weak arm, which baffled me, because I watched a ton of Baylor games and I always thought he had a good live arm and threw a nice tight spiral. So we agreed that we'll have to wait until the preseason to see what truth is. Well are you satisfied now that the kid can zip it?

It was that combine report that leaked after the draft. I remember. He and Matt Cassell were the two weakest throwers in the gun in combine history. I remember.
I also remember we didn't argue about it and said it was just a variable to keep an eye on.

There was some report that Supe cited where apparently Petty's arm didn't test very well at the combines, the radar gun had his velocity at below average to poor. I said at the time that he must have developed a tired arm in preparation for the combines or he just had a bad day, because that gun did not reflect the QB I watched (many times) at Baylor. What we are seeing here is what I saw in college. The kid can spin it.
