Gase was worse. He just was. Lafleur is not very good at putting the blame where it belongs, This new system is a good system and he knows the system very well having been a part of it for quite awhile. He is, after all, a rookie himself. He has never designed or called plays himself. He's going to have to face his shortcomings, do his homework, and learn how to do those things quickly before he runs out of time and opportunity. He's going to have to start scripting the first few plays differently for every team he faces which means that he better start watching tape himself. He needs to learn, also quickly, how to design plays that his players can execute and stop the blame game.

Gase, Schotty, LaFleur = an offensive system leaving too many defenders unaccounted for. and as much as i hate to say this, of the 3, the best (so far) was Schotty...do you remember always hearing about Braylon, Cotch, etc blocking down field for backs or each other?

on seemingly every play, there aren't enough blockers for tacklers

something is being missed...either it's assignment or scheme, and at this point, i am going scheme. the reason being is that we keep hearing EVERY WEEK "no, they didn't do anything we were surprised by".

If that is the case, then the coaches are coaching their players to have faulty assignments.

If it's, "all gas, no brakes", the OC should be named Le Floor! (where we're at now)

well it is a true mantra because every time they are knocked down they get up...

but they don't know when to stay knocked down, that is the true crime...

about 25 or so years ago, i was waiting tables in Naples, FL. Mark Rypien sat in my section; which was outdoor on a slick deck after raining.
i wiped out...@$$ over tea kettle. Rypien put his hand on on my shoulder while i was down, and whispered "if i were you, i would just stay down."
