Metha is just spewing what Ryan Clark said and trying to add he has a source as well... And everyone knows Metha source is Manish.....LOL

But Im sure there are a lot of truths to Geno escalating the whole situation based on the fact that no one has come to his defense....

Yea, that's scary and just shows how immature he is.

What do you think of the fact that no one is coming to Geno's side?

Nobody respects him including me. He basically started the fight and got popped. No starting QB on the planet would do that. Time to move on from him. Let Fitz hold the fort for a year or two and then let Petty learn from him. Cut Geno at end of season sooner. No one in that locker room trusts or respects Geno. Marshall and the staff tried to prop him up, but Geno is just too immature and stupid to run an NFL offense. This is Fitz's team for now and then hopefully Petty.

Geno may be a moron, but sucker punching anyone is grammar school!

I agree, but some of these athletes are just thugs and grew up that way. I don't like the way IK did it, but I understand if he was being taunted by Geno. Just another sign that Geno can't handle the job.

Even the guys who have put their name to it, and spoken publicly, Revis, and Colon, haven't exactly leaped to Smith's defense. The players public face seems to be, "IK shouldn't have hit him, but............................"

If I'm Bowles, I put Smith on partial season IR, and hope he grows a pair in the next couple of months

Something's off about this team then and it's making me pessimistic because up until this point I thought we'd be having a great season.

This feeling has nothing to do with Geno. The production i was hoping to get from Geno was probably wishful thinking. He gave us depth and options. Even if he played awful, Fitz coming in midway into the season would have given us a spark.

The thing that upsets me the most is that this team claims they are close and a tight nit lockerroom but then the leadership of this team does nothing to stop this. Someone should have pulled either one of them aside and told them to drop it.

Where was Marshall, Revis, Mangold, Brick, Bowles or any of the other assistant coaches?

Exactly..... I think a large issue with this team is that there are no leaders among the veterans. Revis, Mangold, Decker, Brick, Harris, Wilkerson....none are leaders. Marshall is new to the team, but he could possibly be one with time. Now I expect Fitz to take this role since he will be the number one QB from here on out for the remainder of the season. IMO, Geno is done here.....he obviously doesn't have the locker room, most of the players don't like him, and Bowles has no loyality to him.

I would not be surprised if we sign a decent QB cut from another team, and waive goodbye to Geno before the season starts. I for one...hope they cut his sorry ass. We need to take care of Wilk, shitcan Geno, trade dumbass Richardson, and clear out the trash......

The coach probably was not in the room, or he would have stopped it. As far as the other players stopping it: IK was a player on the margins of getting cut, and Geno is probably viewed as a smartmouth who many may not feel much loyalty toward. As a result, the others who were present probably just didn't care enough about either one to get involved.

And let's face it, that swing probably caught them all by surprise...

Can anyone imagine what would happen in the Steelers locker room if someone took a swing at Big Ben?

The leaders are trying to stay focused on football all in the face of Richardson' suspension and issues, Mo's feelings about his contract situation, and injuries to key players who were working hard. The only one who showed lack of leadership was the guy expected to bring the most, Geno Smith....IK? Who the hell is he?

in the geno-IK incident, you do not know the facts of what happened. all you know is that IK punched geno. you don't know what led up to this, what was said between the two, how geno may (or may not) have provoked the situation, etc...

you've never met geno. you've never met IK. you know absolutely nothing about either of them.

revis and bowles know the 2 men. they've spent time with them. they know a lot more about what happened than you did.

why do you think revis and bowles are saying what they are saying about both of them being at fault? do you think they have an anti-geno bias? do you think bowles thinks it's a good idea to trash his young QB and hold him partially responsible for getting his jaw busted? what would be their motivation in their words?

bumping my own post. never saw a response from 55 in why he thinks revis and bowles are also assigning blame to geno. while you may accuse certain posters (rightly or wrongly) of having an anti-geno bias, how do you explain the head coach and revis also assigning partial blame to geno?

The damage to the jets by this incident IMO

The Jets have lost a player who was becoming a fan favorite as a situational pass rusher. He may, or may not have made the team.

Smith got a broken jaw, and will probably miss 10 weeks. I came into pre-season not liking Smith as a QB, but hoping he succeeded. Now I don't like him as a person. He has shown him self as an arrogant turd with little, or no locker room support. If I'm Bowles I put him on partial season IR. Pick up another vet QB when the cuts start. Deal with Smith depending on what's going on when he comes back.

The thing that bothers me the most is how the players perceive the way Bowles handled the situation. He was clearly trying to protect his starting QB's rep in his presser. His not revealing the "cause" of the incident edit was ignored by the witnesses. Of the witnesses Bowles was the only one that used the words "sucker punch". One of the other players said it wasn't a sucker punch, when you act that way, your going to get hit. They seem to be coming to IK's defense, much more then Smith's. As I mentioned before it is very reminiscent of the Incognito, Martin incident in Miami.

Bowels needs to be very careful here about his locker room, and his credibility in it.

New #Bills DE IK Enemkpali will issue a statement today at 3:30 pm, per the team

This will be an apology I'm sure, and thanking the Bills for giving him another chance.

I don't like many of the anti-Geno fans, but I am now an anti-Geno fan as well. I would love it if Bowles cut him in the recovery room after surgery. Geno asked to get popped. He didn't deserve it, but sometimes you get what you deserve if you are asking for it.

'Smug' Geno Smith goaded his sucker-puncher: witnesses

The story coming out of the Jets locker room after Tuesday’s incident between Geno Smith and IK Enemkpali is not flattering for Smith.

Two sources who have spoken to Jets players who were in the locker room corroborated stories that Smith instigated the altercation with Enemkpali.

The players said Smith and Enemkapli were having words over the $600 debt Smith owed the linebacker, but they were on separate sides of the locker room. One source described Smith as “taunting” Enemkpali over it. Enemkpali challenged Smith to say it to his face. Smith did and pointed his finger in Enemkpali’s face, which then led to Enemkpali punching Smith and breaking his jaw.

Smith is out for six to 10 weeks and the incident has called into question his future with the team.

“Hopefully, this is a wake-up call for him,” one source said.

Enemkpali was immediately waived by the Jets on Tuesday. The Bills and former Jets coach Rex Ryan claimed Enemkpali off waivers on Wednesday.

Sports Illustrated said a member of the Bills staff contacted a Jets player to find out the details of the fight before the team claimed him. The player described Smith as being the aggressor in the argument.

The root of the issue was a football camp hosted by Enemkpali on July 11 in Texas where Smith was scheduled to appear. Smith canceled after the death of a friend. Enemkpali and Smith had words when training camp opened on July 29, with Smith telling Enemkpali he would reimburse him the $600 Enemkpali had spent on travel expenses for Smith. As of Tuesday, Smith had not repaid Enemkpali, and things escalated.

ESPN reported Thursday that Smith has elected to have surgery on his jaw after getting a second opinion.

Bowles was fine in how he handled the situation. If Geno would have thrown a punch and not been cut immediately then that would have been wrong. I still think Bowles should and will cut Geno. Just a matter of when.

If this is the case, and Smith walked across the locker room, put his finger in IK's face, and said "What are you going to do about it". The wrong guy was cut. The approach, and the sticking a finger in the face while threatening is assault.

You have a right to defend yourself if you perceive it as an attack
