Rooting for him hard today, but not counting on a win
This guy was once a projected 1st round pick. Revisionist historians will always spin it differently, but Geno Smith showed flashes of being a really good QB with the Jets. Then the IK Enemkpali incident happens and of course he sucks from that point forward (to most fans and media). So considering that, it’s really not all that surprising what he’s doing in Seattle. The talent was always there. But the Jets, like so many other teams in desperate search of the One, pulled the plug and kept recycling QB’s.
I really hope this team doesn’t suffer the same fate with Wilson. We cut bait prematurely, and he goes somewhere else and realizes his full potential.

No pressure on the qb. No one within 10 yards of the receivers. The best defense in the NFC. The tombradys are winning out. 11-5. They may not give up another point this season. Tombrady is that good on defense.

I remember things in a different order. I was praying for the Raiders to take Geno before us, and then Chrebet looked unhappy as he announced the pick. When he got to play, the fans and media thought he sucked. But he had a good preseason and won the starting job before getting his jaw broken in a dressing room argument about money he owed. He never got another look-in. Even Geno admits it took a long time for the light to come on, if he hadn't had his jaw broken would he just have been ruined by the weak offensive line as so many other Jets QBs?
Seattle has apparently come out and said Geno is the future. They’re committing to Geno Smith. Hell of a story there. Good for him.
