Gettleman makes Mac look like a football savant

IMO he had two picks in RD 1 when the draft started, 6 and 17, and he could have received way more value for those picks.

1. Draft Josh Allen at #6, after-all they are a 3-4 team without an edge rusher and arguably the best 3-4 OLB fell into their laps at #6

2. Trade the 17th Overall Pick to the Cardinals for Josh Rosen, a trade the Cardinals would have made in a heartbeat.

The trade back into RD 1 for Deandre Baker aside, what would have been a better haul for 6 and 17, you tell me?

If you think the first option kills the second, Gettleman is an imbecile because he EASILY could have made that happen.

Heck, the Cardinals might even have taken the Giants 2nd RD Pick for Rosen!

no way cardinals were getting a 1st for rosen. they may be lucky to get a 2nd for him.

but the giants could have taken allen at 6 and most likely gotten jones at 17 if they really liked him. you can never 100% say he would have been available since there's no way of knowing if a team between 6-17 may have taken him if the giants didn't.

or they could have traded a 3rd (probably) for rosen and used #17 of lawrence or addressing another need

so yeah, yet another curious bunch of decisions from gettleman.

If they snagged Rosen for a 2, they could have drafted Josh Allen and Andre Dillard at 6 and 17 respectively.

Dillard was the consensus best pass-pro LT in the draft, Nate Solder was awful last year, and their RT is a UDFA scrub. They could have installed Dillard at LT, moved Solder to RT, thus improving both Tackles, added arguably the best 3-4 RUSH OLB in the draft, and landed Rosen too.

So Again the top ranked Player falls to Mikey! I have no problem with the pick like I didnt when Williams fell to us after Khlil Mack went before him. Just because This Williams was ranked better doesnt mean he is for sure the best. Allen seems to be the better Pass Rusher over Williams just like Khalil Mack was better the Leonard Williams. Im Fine with it and I expect to see this 20 plus Sack machine over Allen. Just Like Leonard Williams was that 20 plus Sack machine right over Mack? Not since the 80;s has Jets had 2 guys both have 20 sacks a season and I doubt both Williams will be better than Gastineau/Kleco combo.

I have no problem with Gettleman loving Jones. But he reached big time on that pick. #6? Wow. I find it difficult to believe the Giants didn’t receive calls for that pick, and could’ve stockpiled draft picks, and then taken Jones later in the round.

Even Dexter Lawrence was a questionable pick, IMO. I don’t like their draft at all. They could’ve killed it by taking Jonah Williams or Ed Oliver at #6, and then gotten Dillard, Sweat or Tillery at 17.

I believe Jones would’ve made it to them in round 2.

Really no idea what the Giants are doing. I like the CB pick a lot - I think he's the best one in the draft. But the other picks are very puzzling.

Gettleman drafted Jones and Mac drafted Hack. Jones could have been picked on Day 3 and Hack would have never been drafted. Both GM's should be fired.
