Replacements are in house:

Nick Mangold - Wesley Johnson (RFA)
Brandon Marshall - Robby Anderson
Eric Decker - Quincy Enunwa
Ryan Clady - Ben Ijalana (UFA)
Breno Giacomini - Brent Qvale
David Harris - Darron Lee
Darrelle Revis - Marcus Williams (RFA)

not saying that they will go this route but it opens the door to draft future(s) this year and let them develop as spot role players behind the new starters... the best way to develop player(s) is to give them live game reps regardless the amount they can grow within the system and when they are ready they can take over permanently allowing the team to add additional potential moving forward...

I appreciate your optimism but TRUST ME if you go into 2017 with these rag tag 2nd and 3rd stringers this team will plummet FAR worse than this season? I could see maybe a few players actually being good replacements for current vets, but the vast majority of the OL replacements will certainly send the team to it's death. There's a reason why so many GM's invest 1st rounders (just NOT our GM go figure) in OL.........

I agree that MM should invest some of our premium picks this year on the OL, but calling Enunwa, Lee, Williams and Anderson 'rag-tag 2nd and 3rd stringers is ridiculous. I'm not sure if you are serious about some of your remarks, or just looking to be on the edge. Bottom line is that it comes off as sounding detached from reality.

I rather draft and use these guys as the bridge to the developed prospects we draft...

They aren't incoherent players... Wesley Johnson has actually played better this year then Nick Mangold in the last two seasons due to his amassed amount of injuries he has incurred... Ben Ijalana I admit not a long term solution but whomever we draft doesn't need to rush into the starting job day one... Even if it is by week six or eight, the chance for a prospect to get his feet under him...

Understand the rookies will play but they will start spot role playing in their first season getting them much needed reps for film to study until they either take the job or are forced into it...

Don't underestimate the value of these guys, they may not be top tier but they can hold the fort for short term rather than pay out our asses for what if veterans then they go on IR and we are stuck with these guys for the rest of the season...

I truly believe Maccagnan will draft LT & Center in the first three rounds albeit it will probably be in rounds 2 and 3 where most of the talent this year will be...

First round will be the true beast of the position they will target... Like I said after the first 3 of the Top 5 are secure picks after those top 3 the scale drops off a bit...

Are you taking into consideration underclassmen? Seems as though every year we hear that it is a weak year and then a bunch of underclassmen declare. Agree with your assessment BTW on LT and C as being early targets. Depending on where we finish, our #1 pick is a complete wildcard with CB, Edge and QB all being distinct possibilities. Seems like we say this every year but 2017 sounds like a good year to trade down.

Lets begin I am not nor affiliated with media or the team just a fan with an assumption from all reports and whispers through social media... I believe that Todd Bowles is the right choice as Head Coach of the New York Jets... I am interested in seeing former Head of Scouting with the Houston Texans can accomplish as the General Manager with our beloved team...

Looking at the roster right now, have to be intrigued with all the young talent stacked throughout and pleased with the development of other said Jets players from previous regimes... There are some questionable moves that will take place that fans will be at ends about but will be needed for this regime to continue to build and progress overall...

As much as I was for Darrelle Revis when we drafted him, and watched how he hung strung the front office to get his money it was good times... He is and will be one of the best draft selections the Jets ever made, yet they also will be known as the organization that traded him away, then he was released and signed with our division foe the New England Patriots... What bothers me the most is he won a Super Bowl with them, and then we paid him to come back here... Kind of a slap in our faces... This year was his fall from grace and for the best of this team is to send him packing... No position change, no renegotiation of his current deal... Eat the dead loss and move on...

There are five veterans on this team from previous regimes that will be the sole discussion on if they fit what we are currently attempting to build with this regime of Maccagnan and Bowles... David Harris has been one of the stables at linebacker but father time has come and past with his career... Along with Harris, Nick Mangold durability is his main issue nowadays and moving forward it would be best served if the team parts ways either trade/simple release or Nick decides it is time to retire... These two stable pieces would be welcomed additions to the coaching staff, but doubt there would be consideration on Bowles or the players part...

Brandon Marshall has his next gig lined up and it is time he makes that move... Like Marshall, Eric Decker who has been a disappointment to this point is being nice... Signed a big contract and hasn't delivered with Rex Ryan or Todd Bowles... Like Marshall, it looks like they would be better off this team... Maybe they still continue their careers elsewhere but for this team we need to develop not pay for past production on other teams...

The final player, has been under the radar with his fall from dependability is kicker Nick Folk... Hopefully the team realizes he is not as a sure thing as he used to be and moves on...

Speculations about trades, or attempt of trades will become a big distraction this off season on whom they are dealing and to what team... One name already on the block is defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson who since has kept his name out of the media and stepped up his play on the field... Looking at the roster at a glance there are some other players that could be dealt... We will have to wait n see on this front...

If one had to guess why Todd Bowles is committing himself to Ryan Fitzpatrick, it's not out of sheer stupidity but the willingness to win... As an organization this team has been a loser for years and not to play the players that give the team the best chance to win is not who he is and I applaud him for that... This team is on the right path to future success but no where did it say it was going to be smooth sailing, yeah I know bumpy as all hell but the same saying is true: "Rome wasn't built in a day"...

I believe through the draft either draft selections or free agent prospects we will continue to improve the talent throughout this roster... Expect some players that were let go from the ninety man last year to make a return this off season and compete for a roster spot next year... Players like center Kyle Friend, kicker Ross Martin, linebacker Taiwan Jones will be at the fore front... Expect players like Freddie Bishop, Doug Middleton, Bryson Keeton, Brandon Bryant, Victor Ochi, Craig Watts and Ronald Martin be real considerations to make the active 53...

The turnover from year one to year two seemed to hurt the overall stock of this team's ability to be successful... Have to think the hard times are now behind us as we continue to build through the draft and possibly a couple of key signings in free agency... Any promising young talent who are entering this off season as restricted free agents could be targeted especially if there is no pick compensation back to the original team who is tendering that player(s)... There are a few of names to watch out for: RB Isaiah Crowell, Browns - WR Josh Gordon, Browns -- FS Adrian Phillips, Chargers ...

As for me I look at some players that were considered long shots to be anything but backups and special team players that have carved out a role that is important for the growth of the overall team's destination of being competitive... Now will they continue to develop with us or will they be let go to continue their success with another organization... Time will tell but these eight players have proven they belong at this level when no one thought they could be stable forces on any roster: RG Brian Winters, OC Wesley Johnson, LT Ben Ijalana, CB Marcus Williams, SS Rontez Miles, LB Mike Catapano, LS Tanner Purdum, LB Julian Stanford...

I want to smoke what he is smoking

No ....... I love the post except for the OL I still have questions about it

there are no guarantees on who will make the jump...

so based on that the top three we know of are:

Leonard Fournette
Mitch Trubisky
Myles Garrett

the surprising two that would shake things up would be:

Ryan Ramczyk
Jabrill Peppers

but the word is Ramczyk is highly unlikely to leave school...

and Jabrill just a red-shirted sophomore has more he can do at Michigan...

The next best group behind these five are not far off but the grade scale puts them in another class...

These five grade them a (10) best in class...

The next 27 best players are not a (10) but rated them as a strong (8)... So what happened to the (9) rating, that is the problem right now the underclassmen that would achieve that grade are not included...

Usually second round prospects are the back end of the (7) rating up to a strong (8) if this makes any sense to you...

I can if you need do a better scale like the NFL Combine rates players but not at this moment...

We are in need of these 3 positions:

LT, OC, CB

But could also use a OG, OLB, FS, WR, TE, QB, RB, DT, ILB, SS, K, ER...

We are in rebuild mode and every position could be addressed in the next two drafts...

Of our strongest needs only Ramczyk would be a target with our #5 overall if he fell to us otherwise any prospect available we would be taking BPA even tho it is NOT a need... Unless Peppers is drafted to play CB like Jalen Ramsey was last year... But I don't see that happening...

Eric Decker will be 30 years old next season...

his contract is not worth the trouble of having him on the roster... he does not belong to this regime and they are not obligated to keep him moving forward... again Q could be the front runner on the roster moving forward, then the team could go sign a tandem option to pair Q with while having the three young bucks as depth... throw in S. Jenkins as the H Back and/or slot guy they have weapons...

btw just because Q is playing the h back role this year his game has elevated to the point of him able to be one of the lead guys on the outside as well as his aggressive play in the slot...

So you think Hoyer will give us a lift

We need a real QB

Quincy Enunwa is a good player. Biggest surprise of the year. He's made some incredible catches this year.

The funny part here is.... Any QB other than the worst rated QB in the NFL will be a lift.... Hoyer and how he played this year for Chi before his injury would have had us 3-4 more wins. Now I am not saying go get him but I wouldn't be against bringing him in cheap and let him compete with Petty, Hack and any QB we may draft.... I prefer to bring in Foles, Romo or Glennon but I wouldn't be mad if Hoyer was here... Hell I said this past offseason I rather pay Hoyer on the cheap and not pay Fitz.. Felt Hoyer was the same QB but less turnover prone.

the one game I saw Hoyer live a few years ago his passes were so bad he could not throw an INT. LOL
