Is Jim Rome a jets fan?
I had come to the same conclusion. Very well spoken and you can tell that he's enjoying life and counting his blessings for this opportunity. I'm rooting for him to succeed. If he turns out to be a great player then we really had a good draft.
No. As a matter of fact, he's ripped on the Jets in the past when Tannenbaum was running things. Apparently Rome wanted an interview with a Jets player, and the official response from the Jets was "keep all questions positive". Rome has a reputation for being a little snarky sometimes. Rome basically said "screw the Jets". New regime, new circumstances I guess.
Regarding Mauldin, great interview. Amazing story of overcoming a rough life, to go to Louisville and have a standout career. Then to get drafted in the 3rd round. I hope the kid sticks and becomes a starter.
This might be my favorite Jets player ever. I can't wait to see him play and get his first sack.
I know I'm putting to much pressure on this kid and this may not happen but I hope we have the next Ray Lewis on our hands. I mean in his heart, determination, leadership, intelligence and skill and talent of playing the game. No he probably won't be this but anything close and we have ourselves a gamer here people. With the life and drive this kids has shown just to make it through that, imagine what he will do on the field for this team. I will be routing for this kid as everyone else will and hope he's able to get his siblings in a better position and become the best LB and player the Jets have ever had.
