If we had a TOP 10 QB with this defense, and with two receivers like Marshall and Decker, and a bruising power-back like Chris Ivory, Las Vegas would have us installed as the prohibitive favorites to win he Super Bowl this year.I agree with you that our offense is solid. Unfortunately it is being held back at QB with Fitz there. I don't think Geno would be the answer either. If we had a top 10 QB we would be outstanding. I always find it that over the long haul the team with the best QB usually wins out even if the rest of the team is flawed.
PROHIBITIVE FAVORITES
Thats the sad part, this is a Super Bowl caliber team from top to bottom, in terms of starters and depth, unfortunately its a QB driven league and thats the giant achilles heel that is almost impossible to overcome. I say "almost" because it can be overcome with a GREAT DEFENSE like the 85 Bears or 2000 Ravens, even these recent Seahawks teams have played in the last two SB's (1-1) largely on the strength of their defense, though Wilson is certainly better than anyone we have at the QB position, but my point is, the Ravens could win the SB with Trent Dilfer because they didn't have a GOOD DEFENSE, they had a GREAT DEFENSE, and the same was true of the 85 Bears, Jim McMahon was okay, but he was not an elite QB, they won the SB because their defense was downright ferocious. But generally speaking you are right, the lack of a franchise QB makes it a huge uphill climb thats almost impossible to overcome.
