Not even as a back-up or clipboard holder. If he doesn't change position he will never play in the NFL. I could, maybe, visualize him as a receiver.

I'm sorry, Hack as a receiver? I don't see him playing any other position at an NFL level.

I feel bad for Hack. I saw him lead Penn St. to a tremendous comeback victory (I think against Michigan) as a freshman and remember thinking at the time that he was a sure-fire early 1st round pick. It's very hard to reconcile that memory with what has happened. My guess is that he simply was not able to process what he was seeing quickly enough or well enough. I once heard Trent Dilfer go through all the things that a QB must do in about 2-3 seconds after the snap and it is quite remarkable that anyone can process so much in such a short amount of time. Hack couldn't do it. Having said the above,it is clear that Hack was a reach, bit the Jets' coaches did not do even a half way decent job with him either.

My guess is that your guess is correct but in truth I have a difficult time blaming that on the coaching staff. Either you can learn the play book and how to read defenses or you can't. At the college level that chore is much less of a challenge. But, like you, I do feel bad for him.

He got ruined when O'Brien took the Texans job. The Nittany Lions hired Franklin, who is a good coach but plays a totally different system. That's what wrecked Hack.

Honestly, he should have transferred when that happened to a school with a more traditionally pro-style offense.
