Well so far I still stand by Hackett being a huge problem. He was made by Rodgers. Sucked with Russell Wilson and now Payton has put him back to a competent QB. Sucks with Wilson which is not his fault. Sucked with Boyle who knows his "system". We ignored the obvious warning signs after Peyton threw him under the bus. We pass 60-70% of the time with the leagues worse QB's and OL and continue to take on sacks.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hackett is our new HC/OC next year. As we go 0 - 17. While Hackett is given a new 5 year contract.

That’s possible, but seeing what Hackett did with Kyle Boyler I still feel like he is a good OC who is getting a bad rap. Rodger’s has nothing but great things to say about him and won 2 MVPs playing in his system. Russ only played well for Pete Carroll and we all see what he’s done with Geno.

I read a lot about how good Rodgers was in Hackett's system but the truth is,it was Matt LaFleur's system. And LaFleur called the plays.
Hackett was a glorified qb coach, for a first ballot HOF QB at the end of his career surrounded by talent.

the only way the offense gets better is if winning drops us out of the running for the top tier linemen in the draft

I guess you can include AVT in your comment as well, but when both of those guys were healthy they were very good. So, Is JD incapable of spotting OL talent, I don't think so. Perhaps, he just needs a crystal ball so he can eliminate guys who will get injured.

Both players are injury prone and will continue to be. They need to redo the OL again. Hopefully they can get a better evaluator. At the end of the day JD's record speaks for itself.

I love the negativity, but JD couldn’t know they would become injury prone unless he believed in the curse in which case he wouldn’t bother drafting anyone

Becton was surrounded by red flags pre draft and lots of fans hated the pick.
AVT was much better received but there were plenty pissed off with the pick, due to the exorbitant price to obtain him. A first and 2 thirds is absurd for a guard.
Becton was expected to be injury prone prior to the draft due to his knock knees, and he met expectations. Gaining 80 pounds in his first preseason all but guaranteed it.

Becton wasn't the best pick for the Offensive line at the time, but JD wanted a LT not a OG. I remember most of the Jet fans did not want Becton because of his knees and laziness. Many felt he would eat his way out of the NFL. AVT was a good pick. I thought at the time the Jets would go after Slater.
