With the rule change that you no longer need to pre designate which player can come off ir early, that is a decent ir list. None of them should be expected to miss the entire season so if a player gets hurt at qb, wr, or t, we have a mid season replacement ready to go.

Also, Wesley Johnson as the only backup interior lineman? I think if we pickup another olineman, he has to be able to play inside. I dont think qvale or ijalana has ever done it.

Thats why I put two OG's on the PS, a taxi squad has a duel purpose, one is for young players to develop, and another is to stash depth at certain positions that you can activate if there are injuries and they walk in knowing the system.

I try to strategically use the PS for both.

I don't want to see Petty on the IR either. He can't take reps with the team, he's played very well this pre-season and he needs reps to take the next step. Unfortunately circumstances may dictate that's what happens.

I agree, even though he is oblivious to it, Amaro may be on the bubble

Guys, I don't want to see Petty on IR either, I've been arguing for weeks that he should be the #2 QB and Geno should be traded, but I'm a pessimistic Jets fan when it comes to injuries and I have a bad feeling about this one. When I saw that he couldn't throw the ball five feet on that 2PT Conversion following that big hit, my heart sunk in my chest and I got a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. Yes, I know the X-Rays were negative, but X-Rays are only useful in discerning bone breaks, not soft tissue injuries like ligament tears, so until we get the results of the MRI today, I'll be hoping for the best but expecting the worst, just my nature as a longtime Jets fan.

In light of recent tweets suggesting Petty has a bruised shoulder but no structural damage (Thank You, Lord!!), I am pulling him off the IR and projecting him onto the 53. In turn I moved Bostick to the PS.

I'd suggest you do the same because the eligibility requirements were recently changed to make PS eligible players with more service time in the league. Its a new wrinkle so quasi veterans have another option besides hitting the street.

I owe you an apology, the rules have changed and I thought it was four years of service, but its only two, so indeed Bohanon is ineligible. The rest appear to be eligible?

Unless I'm misreading it, Bostick has played two years in the league, the rest are under two.

WAIT, NOPE, Josh Martin has three years like Bohanon and so does Darryl Morris.

Some revisions are definitely in order!

Who is eligible?

The rules have changed over the last few years. For this coming season, teams have ten slots. Four of the ten may be used on players with two years of NFL service time. At least six of the ten have to be used on players with less than two years of NFL service time.
