01. CARDINALS - Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma
That sham of a pre-draft press conference was not convincing, I still believe Kingsbury will get the ideal QB he wants to run his system. I also believe the Cards are rightfully waiting for someone to offer a 1st RD Pick for Josh Rosen. Eventually they may have to settle for a 2, but I think the Redskins will blink first and deal that #15 Pick to Arizona for Rosen.
02. 49ERS - Quinnen Williams, DT, Alabama
The 49ers can choose Nick Bosa who spent most of 2018 in street clothes, and that wasn't his first injury either, not unlike his brother. Or they can use this pick on a guy who was doing his best King Kong impersonation is 2018.
03. LIONS - Nick Bosa, ER, Ohio State
The most likely candidate to trade down are the Jets. They're not even keeping it a secret. They've practically announced that this pick is for sale to the highest bidder, provided the price is right. I suspect this will cost Detroit at least their 2nd RD Pick in this draft and 1st RD Pick in 2020, maybe more, but it's worth it to watch Flowers and Bosa terrorize QB's as bookend DE's.
04. RAIDERS - Josh Allen, ER, Kentucky
I believe the Raiders are locked-in with this pick to find as close to a replacement for Khalil Mack as they can find. They know replacing Mack is close to impossible, but they are taking the highest ranked edge rusher on their board (who is still available) when they go on the clock.
05. BUCS - Montez Sweat, ER, Mississippi State
Everyone is still buzzing about Sweat's combine and rightfully so. 6' 6" 260 Pounders are not supposed to run 4.41's. But this is not a workout warrior. He had the production to back it up.
06. GIANTS - Rashan Gary, DE, Michigan
Gary is an ideal fit at 3-4 DE and his upside is enormous. The production at Michigan frankly was lacking, but if the Giants can coach him up and help him to achieve his ceiling, the sky is the limit for this physical freak. BTW if the Giants played a base 4-3 Ed Oliver would be a no-brainer, but IMO he's too small to play in the trenches in a base 3-4.
07. JAGUARS - TJ Hockenson, TE, Iowa
Most people have an OT (Jawaan Taylor) going to the Jaguars in this spot, but Nick Foles loves to use his TE and Hock is the best triple threat TE in the draft. As a pass blocker and run blocker he's like having another OT on the field. As a receiver he's a bull in a china closet similar to Gronk. BTW if you want proof that Foles loves to utilize his TE, Zach Ertz had over 100 receptions last year, second in the league, and that includes WR's too.
08. JETS - Andre Dillard, LT, Washington State
Dillard is the consensus best pass-pro LT in the draft and if you watch his tape you'll see why. 722 snaps last year and he allowed one sack. Basically he protects his QB like its his newborn baby. This is the player they were hoping for to protect Sam Darnold's blindside when they traded down.
09. BILLS - Ed Oliver, DT, Houston
The Bills may have passed on Oliver for a guaranteed LT terrific in pass-pro like Andre Dillard, but they won't pass on a potentially great penetrating DT in their 4-3 for a RT (Taylor) or a guy whose position is still not set in stone (Jonah).
10. BRONCOS - Devin White, ILB, LSU
With Miller and Chubb at OLB in the Broncos 3-4, and Devin White at ILB, this could be the best linebacking core in all of football, and it doesn't even matter who the second ILB is.
11. BENGALS - Dwayne Haskins, QB, Ohio State
New HC's (Zac Taylor) normally like to pick their own QB's and start fresh with their guy (see Kingsbury and Murray), unless they are inheriting a proven franchise QB in his prime.
12. PACKERS - Devin Bush, ILB, Michigan
Prior to free agency OLB was their biggest need, but post free agency it's ILB and Bush is a terrific one who plays like his hair is on fire.
13. DOLPHINS - Drew Lock, QB, Missouri
Big, strong-armed QB with a ton of college games he started under his belt, which might make him the most pro ready QB in the draft.
14. FALCONS - Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson
Wilkins and Grady Jarrett will be a hell of a duo for Centers and Guards to deal with.
15. CARDINALS - Brian Burns, ER, Florida State
The Cards are switching to a 3-4. Terrell Suggs is 36 and breaking down physically. Chandler Jones is fine on the other side, but Suggs is a one year stop-gap. As for Burns, everyone expected him to weigh-in in the low 230's and perhaps even the 220's, but he showed up at the combine at 6' 5"/250 and proceeded to run a 4.53. Burns is a blur off the edge.
16. PANTHERS - DK Metcalf, WR, Ole Miss
Let's face it, Cam Newton is not the most accurate passer in the league. Big, strong, athletic and a cannon for an arm, but he doesn't hit the bullseye as often as a franchise QB should. A QB like Cam can really use a big, fast WR like Metcalf even if his current route tree is limited.
17. GIANTS - Daniel Jones, QB, Duke
The last time the Giants drafted a QB from Duke in RD 1, Dave Brown, it didn't workout very well. But reportedly the Giants love Jones connection to the Manning's and he's a serious consideration for them at 17.
18. VIKINGS - Jeffery Simmons, DT, Mississippi State
The first ten games or thereabouts Simmons will essentially be red-shirted until he returns from ACL surgery, but if the Vikings make the playoffs Simmons should be in peak condition by then and that's a scary thought. Make no mistake about it, this is a TOP 5 talent and by the end of 2020 he will be a strong candidate for "steal of the draft" in 2019.
19. TITANS - Clelin Ferrell, ER, Clemson
Cameron Wake is 37, tore his Achilles in 2015, and is really a shell of the player he was in his prime. Kamalei Correa isn't a pass rusher on the other side either. It's hard to win if you can't pressure the QB in this league.
20. STEELERS - Jawaan Taylor, OT, Florida
There are rumors floating around (see Tony Pauline's podcast) about injury concerns. Nothing specific, but apparently it has GM's a little worried, so I have him sliding a bit in this mock draft. That said, he fills a huge need for the Steelers and if he's healthy it's an absolute steal at 20.
21. SEAHAWKS - Noah Fant, TE, Iowa
Doug Baldwin has revealed he will need further surgeries. With that in mind, there's really not much for Wilson to throw too and the Hawks just paid him a gazillion dollars. A WR in a TE's body like Fant would add a dynamic weapon.
22. RAVENS - Garrett Bradbury, C, NC State
Big need for the Ravens and Bradbury has perennial All-Pro potential.
23. TEXANS - Jonah Williams, OL, Alabama
Texans have to take the best available O-lineman or their QB is gonna get killed. That O-line they're putting out there now might be the worst in football.
24. RAIDERS - Greedy Williams, CB, LSU
Not the most physical Corner in the world, but 6' 2" CB's who run a 4.37 and can cover don't grow on trees. If Greedy Williams slides to the Raiders at 24, a big if, but if he does and they walk away with Josh Allen and Greedy Williams with their first two picks in RD 1, they will have hit a HR in this draft ... and they still have #27 too.
25. EAGLES - Greg Little, OT, Ole Miss
I don't love Little, too inconsistent, but when he's at the top of his game he can really dominate his opponent. Jason Peters is 37, breaking down physically (ACL, MCL, Achilles) and a shell of his former self. Oh and the Eagles don't have Foles around anymore to bail them out if Wentz gets hurt.
26. COLTS - Marquise Brown, WR, Oklahoma
Now that Luck is healthy and has an O-line that can protect him and buy him time in the pocket to go downfield, Hollywood Brown is an ideal addition. Reminds me of Tyreek Hill. Always a threat to take it the distance.
27. RAIDERS - Josh Jacobs, RB, Alabama
After defensive players with their first two picks in RD 1, it's time to use the third one on a gift for Derek Carr. IMO Jacobs is one of the most underrated players in this draft due to Saban's 3-RB's rotation. Feature Back.
28. CHARGERS - Cody Ford, OL, Oklahoma
The Chargers can plug Ford right in at RT or RG, wherever they feel he is needed most.
29. CHIEFS - Byron Murphy, CB, Washington
Murphy is one of those Corners who has terrific instincts and he must be a real student of the game, because he always seems to know where the ball is going and puts himself in a position to make a play. Reminds me of Marcus Peters without the character issues.
30. PACKERS - Johnathan Abram, S, Mississippi State
Consensus best Safety in the draft who also fills a big need for the Packers. How can they not be happy with that?
31. RAMS - Dexter Lawrence, NT, Clemson
Having not re-signed Suh, Lawrence would fill their obvious need for a new Nose Tackle.
32. PATRIOTS - Irv Smith Jr., TE, Alabama
With Gronk retiring Belichick will jump on Hockenson, Fant or Smith if any of the three slides to 32. Hock and Fant WON'T, but Irv Smith Jr. might.
That sham of a pre-draft press conference was not convincing, I still believe Kingsbury will get the ideal QB he wants to run his system. I also believe the Cards are rightfully waiting for someone to offer a 1st RD Pick for Josh Rosen.
