I'd be a happy camper if #6 happened, but drafting an OLB means they'll be staying in a 3-4 and I don't like that.
Here's one I like a lot.

(cut and paste into your browser - a 7 round mock)

Later

There is no way in hell we can go to a 4-3 this year.... We don't have a single 4-3 DE on the Roster.... We have guys that would be ok against the run with 0 pass rush in the 4-3.... Our LB corps is not built for a 4-3... NO true 4-3 OLB and definitely no 4-3 MLB....... a successful edge rusher will make this 3-4 defense elite.. We would need to gut the whole DL with the exception of MO and Leo. They would both play DT in a 4-3 and didn't you see how awful we were when we played 4-3 last year..

With that said I do like the draftwire mock...

True. You have a front seven built for a 3-4. Stick with it. Have a 3-4 base, and go off that for wrinkles.

Made some edits. I would still love OJ Howard at 6, but I have a feeling we're taking Hooker.

That said, I love Hooker too, so I'll be happy with either player.

I think the best case scenario in this draft is Mac makes two trade downs; 1 involving 6 pick to cle and another involving one of our picks packaged with Sheldon for a higher round pick or multiple picks.

I think guys like obifemiwu safety (spelling?) Perine RB, Kamara RB, King CB, Engram or Njoku (TE), Peterman QB, Eiflin (C), Goodwin (PSU) can be just as impactful potentially as guys like hooker, Howard, and the top CB and OL

I would personally prefer more OL help. TE is a great step in the right direction, but I'd love to add a Pat Elflein or Cam Robinson assuming he slips....The Jets should create a way to be competitive in the short term. Now that does NOT mean reaching per say on draft picks, but a good OL, TE, and a RB? That could be the very foundation for a great team down the road...........

Would there be a revolt on here if the Jets traded up to 1 for Myles Garrett?
Not in theory, but if the Brown's are truly happy to take him, we'll have to overpay. Depending in how you value future picks, could be 1, 2 & 3 this year and 1 & 2 next year to jump 5 spots. That's using the chart and valuing next year's picks like the 16th pick a round later.

With that price tag, it would be a massive mistake for a team with so many holes.

Yeah that's what I was inferring. 'In theory' there's nothing wrong with the Jets trading up to get the BAP in the whole draft at their biggest position of need outside of QB - in reality, it would cripple us. Unless he can be a HOF QB as well.
