nice list, i think Deion Simon would be practice squad and Dalton Freeman OL would make the team. Also i've been hearing a lot about that kid Lattimore LB in coverage. He seems to be getting a lot of pd's. He might be carving out a niche for third downs as well as special teams ace. Don't know if taiwon Jones would last on practice squad but also not hearing his name too much at camp so far. Enunwa seems to be catching some steam maybe they add another WR and try to stash Wes Saxton on the PS. A lot of tough decisions coming up, these preseason games should give a clearer picture.

Nice list. However Milliner will not be on the IR, he can be back as soon as week 2. Also IMO, I think they will keep 7 WRs and 3 TEs

With our guard situation, no way in hell our starter from last year in not on this team. Aboushi is a lock

I think the Jets face some amazingly difficult roster choices. I think that is why Julian Howsare and Darin Walls are taking some time at other positions. Seems like IK and Mauldin are playing so well you can dump Pace, and keep a LB project like Howsare as LB depth, FB when needed and ST.

Similar with Walls, if he can be an effective depth safety frees up another roster spot.

So in this scenario replace Pace with Howsare and remove Miles. Also they probably let one of the 4 RBs go as well. Aboushi and Freeman/Ijalana kept at OL where we have age and will need to rebuild very soon. Winters might lose his spot to Harrison. I think Saxton goes to the PS and we actually keep 7 WRs adding in Enunwa as he has value on STs as well.

SO:

Howsare instead of Pace
Walls instead of Miles (frees spot)
Add Aboushi
Harrison instead of Winters
Enunwa instead of Saxton

Also they may cut Stacy, which might add back in Pace, Saxton, Ijalana or Freeman

My gut tells me OL is not set, and we may trade a RB, CB or even WR before camp ends

The prognosis was 6 to 8 weeks, that takes us to Week 4 if its 8, and I'm always going with the worse case scenario for Milliner, so I can see him going on the short term IR to start the season, I think its four weeks or six?

You can only use it for one player a season. I would not spend that bullet on Milliner. I might keep him on the roster, but no on IR designated to return

Johnny, I did do one edit, not quite the way you would have, but I did remove Pace and add Enunwa because I'm worried about the multiple concussions for Owusu. I still have Owusu making it, but now I'm carrying 7 WR's as you also suggested, which might be pushing it, but its possible.

Also Harrison over Winters is something I strongly considered. I can see that happening.

As for Aboushi, I have a feeling the new staff is not very high on him and he might not make it.

Not so fast, Bronx, as I said to Johnny, I'm getting a vibe that the new staff doesn't see much in Aboushi that they like. He might still make it, but IMO its far from a lock.

If you're correct , we better get outstanding guard play this year. Otherwise they should be killed for cutting a starter who played decently last year

Yeah playing third string LEFT guard is pretty ominous for Aboushi. But he was clearly better than Winters last year when he came in so it is pretty interesting.

Sometimes its just a matter of personal preference, Johnny. Some coaches prefer athletic technicians, others prefer maulers with more size and strength. Some prefer a mixture, athletic tackles and road graders inside at the guards. Its possible that one staff could value a player like Aboushi over someone like Winters, but Winters is a better fit for the next staff. I don't know that to be the case here, but I suspect that it might be. From day one this staff has given no indication that they like what they have in Aboushi. I don't know what Chan Gailey's preferences are, but I'm old enough to remember Todd Bowles as a player with the Redskins and those Super Bowl teams he played on were led by their O-line, THE HOGS, a big, strong, mauling O-line, and I would imagine that made an impression on him.
