NFL has clamped down a bit on poison pill offers. And with the Jets' cap room, other teams may not even bother wasting time trying to sign him knowing we can match any offer.

i disagree. we know harrison can play the game, and play it well. a 2nd round pick (especially if it's a late pick, like say NE's) is no certainty to be a productive player. and if we lose ellis in FA (he could sign elsewhere while the harrison situation plays out), we then have a gaping hole in the middle of the d-line. and then we need to use a draft pick on the spot which could be used elsewhere.

if it were a 1st round tender, i may agree, although i personally would still keep snacks. but not a 2nd

All very interesting, while he's not the traditional DT that would fill a guy like Wilforks spot, he could be extremely effective moving around the Pats D-line. I don't understand a 2nd round tender for a guy like this unless the Jets are very sure of matching whatever his offers end up being.

Did anyone bite on Snacks? I haven't read that anyone has shown any interest.
