Harvin rumors

For what they are worth (possibly ZILCH), there are reports on rant sports and fansided that Harvin will be released by the Jets prior to the March 19 decision deadline making his cost to the team a sixth round pick and whatever he has already been paid but no 2015 cap hit

any other decision would be dumb IMO

pretty much a no-brainer for me

I think releasing him is probably the way it goes but I think total failure to find a WR in free agency may change that.

Not sure how much of an upgrade Torrey Smith, Mike Wallace, Brandon Marshall, or Vincent Jackson are...

If Mariota is taken before 6, we draft Cooper or trade down a few spots, add an additional 2nd or third and take Kevin White. Harvin hole filled. Period

Hole filled? How silly I am to consider a rookie WR as an unknown commodity...

Or a $10,500,000 gadget player who has put up 800 yards in the last two years, and been kicked off 2 teams.

He was kicked off or traded? I believe there is a difference between what happened to Harvin vs Dimitri Patterson.

We have $59 ($62 when we cut CJ2k)...all this will lead to is a guaranteed contract on the books vs the non-guaranteed one we just cut. Hope the player we replace him with is worth the guaranteed money and potential dead money...also hope Brady short passing game never sniffs Harvin since they would actually know what to do with his talents...

When a player you signed a year ago for $10,500,000 is traded for a 6th round pick because he can't get along with his team mates, he's kicked off.

If he goes to NE, maybe he'll punch Brady in the eye the night before the Jets game. Being with the Pats isn't going to prevent him from getting injured.

There are only a few ways to deal with Harvin. You either just pay him, and put up with him. And watch him get his 600 or so yards before he gets injured or causes a problem in the locker room. Or you release him, then offer him the same contract he has now, accept for one small detail. The pay out is 5-6 million. Not 10-11.

I really doubt with his past behavior, and injury history there are many teams out there willing to to give him a 50 million contract, with guarantees.

No one said they would. I do think there will be guaranteed money in his new deal that he doesn't have now with the Jets. How many issues has he had as a Jet?

How many issues did he really have with the Seahawks? I think he was traded for the simple reason that they spent too much money on a guy who missed a lot of time. Honestly think the locker room cancer was a bit overblown by Seahawks mgmt. through media to cover their butt for overpaying Harvin.

More than filled actually since either Cooper or White can probably do way more than kickoff return duty and wildcat trickery plays

They appear to be actual wide receivers who can run routes, get open and catch passes.. at a positive opportunity savings of 8 million a year and the value of a draft pick 64+ picks better

I hope our wildcat days are behind us

Cooper could be the next Reggie Wayne or the next Peter Warrick. White could be the next Andre Johnson or the next Kenny Britt. But I guess you already know they're both studs. I apologize that my crystal ball is offline.
