Zach Wilson has hero mentality as a quarterback what is concerning his short game is worse than a two year old trying to learn how to throw the ball. Yes he has oft script ability meaning he is an improviser. But when you can not throw the easy stuff that this game plan is predicated on the rest means nothing. Always looking to extend the play rather play for the next down. He does not read the defenses well and is often tricked into what they are doing. Just because you were taken number two overall does not mean you do not have to put in the work and I am sorry this coaching staff can preach to the stars but the ass output this kid does each week is disgusting.

SNY Jets said it simple, need average quarterback play these past few weeks and we could of or would of beaten the Pats twice, beat the Lions and the Jaguars with ease because of our defense but to drop these games because your quarterback is trying to be the guy, the man, the hero is atrocious.

Take your losses this off season find a trade partner get a couple day two picks, he still a competent player with the right coaching staff and scheme maybe he can develop within his rookie deal. This team missed big time, guess they did not know their own scheme and to find comparable talent to it.

majority it is on him. the simple screen pass he can not do it. slant passes over the middle he is always over throwing or missing completely. this is on the quarterback. when a 5th round quarterback is making all those throws making the second overall pick look foolish it is on the one missing simple throws.

if he would work on those things rather pointing fingers then maybe we could count no him for wins. the wins he got accounted for were because of the team, defense and special teams along with the run game. without a steady run game he is a below average signal caller and that is on him for not perfecting his craft, shame on him.

This kid never had a chance from day one! I said when drafted to not start Zach behind this crappy O Line and let him learn until Jets draft an O Line and get a Vet WR that could help. This mess is all Jets! All wrong! 49ers take a QB at 3 and didn’t start him in first year even with a good O Line and WRs! Bills as I said had a O Line and got a Vet WR in year 2. Chiefs benched their QB in first year and now one of best! Zach trying to learn in first year being chased all over with his head spinning not thinking what he sees in blitzes and I seen panic mode jitters last year and thought Jets would fix O Line and WR problem. NOPE! Instead Jets fixes the Defense and puts Zach out there again in year 2! WTF??? I can’t waste anymore of my life watching this crap and turned off game in 2 nd Quarter. Fans booing players not helping him because the whole team wants Zach gone! This is such a mess by Joe Douglas in development of this kid at QB by not addressing Offense to make sure Zach had every chance. Zach not starting in year one, fix Offense Line ,top WR Veteran and good RB in place year 2 and Zach learning reading and seeing Defenses and WR calming Zach being open if any trouble giving support to Zach and players listening to Vet WR. Dorkfins took longer but did this and turned it around. What a fucking mess and gives me ZERO confidence in Jets judgment in how to develop and train a QB and even Draft a QB. Trevor Lawrence should be a Jet but he would be ruined by now if same thing put to him as Zach. I’ve been loyal fan watching Jets not Draft the right QB since 1965 and even if they did luck out the Jets would ruin his development giving QB no chance throwing him out there in NY behind Crap and not addressing issues even in year 2. Trade Zach to a good and fair Coach who will bench him in first year making sure he understands and has competent players supporting his development. Raiders, 49ers, is teams as example along with Bills, Dolphins, Chiefs, even Giants is light years ahead of Jets in developing QBs. I’m sorry Jets just clueless since 1965 to Draft the right QB and develop a QB and I’m tired of watching Back up caliber or over the hill Vet QBs to try and win a Super Bowl! Being a fan since 1968 seeing the incredible to watching Jets screw up over 50 years makes me done. I’m out of here and donating all Jets gear not from 68-69 and 85-87 years on it as memorabilia. Honestly, I get saying "it's not all on him", but 99% is on Zach and Zach alone! The Offense ignites and looks completely different the second Zach goes to the sidelines!!! That is the reality of it!

Does the game plan suck at times (100%), do the receivers & RBs miss assignments (100%), do the receivers cut & short their routes (100%)! But shit lets be real here! You take Zach out and all of a sudden everyone else on the field looks better! They don't miraculously stop the mistakes, they still happen on every play, but the bottom line is Zach CANNOT do the routine things he needs to do and HE MAKES NO ONE BETTER!!!

Maybe Zach can be a good QB down the road. The problem is, he needs development, he needs mentoring, he needs to learn how to play the position. He isn't getting that right now, maybe the loss of coach Knapp really killed everything they wanted to accomplish with Zach, but right now Zach is the idea of a potential franchise QB (but he isn't even a serviceable one at the moment)
