Absolutely. Brown is comming back from off season shoulder surgery, and Becton and Mitchell are both high risk for injury. Going all in with Rodgers and other vet signings mean protecting Rodgers is priority #1Good interview. He talks about a lot of the guys on the squad. Looking at the O line, if Becton/Brown/AVT/Mitchell are all healthy, so we really need to go draft another O lineman in the first round?
IDK, maybe it's just pessimism on my part, but I feel like we are over drafting the position and can't seem to get it right. It will catch up with us and hinder us in other positions because we are consistently spending first round capital on the O-line.Absolutely. The team ignored the position for years. Right now o line and DT are our biggest needs. I don't think we even have a center under contract.IDK, maybe it's just pessimism on my part, but I feel like we are over drafting the position and can't seem to get it right. I'd rather see them invest in a better training staff to see if we can limit the injuries (Becton first injury was a freak accident, but last season injury in camp seems more worrisome). A mix of FA's and drafted players seems like the best option. I just hate going into every draft with the same position of need, and we may miss out on a potential star at another position because we have to draft out of need.
We drafted Becton , AVT and Mitchell, Becton was great until hurt and then hurt again. AVT was also great then got hurt but should come back fine. Mitchell was a lower round pick thrust into the starting lineup early and was still doing a nice job until he had the freak blood clot thing. He should also be able to come back fine. Not like we were drafting horrible lineman these guys were good. Last year our injuries on the O-line were such an out of the ordinary occurrence. Add to that the absolute regression our QB, and we have the season derailing as it did.We drafted Becton , AVT and Mitchell, Becton was great until hurt and then hurt again.
