Here's why I want Woody to fire Bowles and hire Mike Westhoff....

It's things like this and many other things he says that make me think he is a great motivator and very good judge of talent. A guy that can truly get the most out of the talent surrounding him. A guy that will surround himself with other great coaches. From there, it's up to Mac to get Westy the talent that he needs to be successful......

He only retired because they changed the rules on kickoffs so much that he decided he wasn't needed any more. He's said many times he would coach the Jets............

I have no problem replacing Bowles at this point.

My preference is to give Mac first choice in naming Bowles' replacement. There needs to be some level of stability. It's way too early to throw in the towel on Mac. Let him choose his man.

If I had a say in the building, I would push for an offensive coach, especially one who has worked with QBs with diverse skill sets. The guy I would target is Todd Haley. I love Westhoff as a football guy and a special teams guy, but I'm not sure that makes him a HC.
