My question would be why do we care ? Berrios is making plays for the Jets and that’s all that matters. The only other issue is will we get a deal done

This is a business. Jets won't show him loyalty if he gets hurt. They will cut him. Berrios should break the bank on the Jets. Lets see if the Jets are stupid enough to overpay him. I like Berrios, but there is a limit. Not my money so I don't know what that limit is.

Nothing about this process should be difficult - Berrios and Jets need to be fair for good reasons. Both got more than expected from each other and thus there should be mutual respect/interest towards a deal. Incentives can always be thrown in if Berrios supercedes production year over year.
And #10 has made the most of that chance. And #10 never took a play off...he has rewarded the franchise with his best. He owes them nothing.
I want the Jets to be fair to him, and that is called "whatever the market price is"... not the low ball offer he might receive elsewhere or the pie in the sky offer he might get from a GM thinking he's more than he is, but a fair market price, and #10 should try to get that price.
IMO, and i preface that because we are all fans with opinions which are of equal value, fans shouldn't put the expectation of a Hometown discount on a player in any contract year, let alone the one that can set him up for life...those discounts should come from a willing player who made his hay, and wishes to retire with the team he made it with.
Not a chance. Guys like Berrios and Renfro with the Raiders always show up on teams that win . These are the guys who excel at the college level but scouts over look them because they don’t look the part .price just went down
