Could be about to lose two. Mo Wilkerson, and Brick. Ferguson is due to make $14,000,000
well think they might restructure Brick's contract because we really don't have any left tackle ready to take the spot... to sign a free agent going to cost just as much to bring someone in as what Brick is going to make...

as for Mo Wilk if the Jets do part ways with Antonio Cromartie not only will they be able and capable to afford to give Mo a boost on his this year's salary while still having reserve to offer Damon Harrison a solid contract...

If your talking about paying Brick his money next year , and pushing the cap hit down the road, which is what usually happens in a restructure, very bad idea for an aging LT. That would be a Mike T move and will lead to haveing a $20,000,000 cap hit in a couple of years, and the player is finished. Right now Brick is paid as the 7th highest paid LT in the NFL. That's this year, next year he would be #1 I believe. Sadly at this point he is playing like a JAG. Pushing any more money down the road would be insane. LT's like Eric Fisher, Greg Robinson,Luke Joeckel, and Lane Johnson average about 5+- million. Brick's true value would arguably be in that range. You wouldn't have to pay 10+ million to replace him
More then likely what will happen are one of two things.
1) Jets make him a take it or leave it offer, if he doesn't accept it, bye
2) Allow Brick to go out on the market and see what his value is. If they want to match, fine. If not he's gone.
BTW Mangold is in the same situation. with an 8.5 million cap number. next year. Doubt they will pay that either.

I am simply stating they have leverage on renegotiating his contract being that they can simply release him but Brick is a team player and this contract was written with the premise that the final two years would be redone...
That being said I don't think Brick is worth anything more than $7.5 M annual and that is being generous the way he has played as of late...
There is a some speculation that Ferguson might retire at season's end...
Never stated to push money down the road, simply stated leverage is on our side for him to take a pay cut or be cut period...
Like Brick, Mangold career is in doubt after this neck injury that it seems like he can not get back from... If so, Nick Mangold like Brick could call it a career... Unlike Brick we actually have not one but two formidable backups in Dakota Dozier and Wesley Johnson whom could become the future at the center position... Even Brian Winters could be moved to center...

I think we're in as bad a situation at QB as we've been in a while. Even with the thumb, were getting Fitz just about at his best, health-wise, for a season that he's been the starter (meaning he hasn't missed a full game). Odds against that happening again are steep. Geno is a goner, and nobody that's actually seem him holding a football in the laat 3 months thinks Petty is ready to contribute. So I think you have to go QB in round 1, unless you absolutely can't get where you need to be to get one - but I would go either aggressive, and go after a top QB, or semi-aggressive and get one in the second half of the round if possible.
But I do think we could go LT somewhere in the first 3 rounds. It's definitely time to take a shot at our future there, before it gets late.

I don't know where you're coming from on Mangolds neck. It's a serious injury that takes months of rest to realign and become comfortable. He's playing hurt because our season is over if he doesn't. It's not that he can't recover, it's that he's sacrificing his health to get back on the field. It's like a qb playing worth a brown leg every week and saying he needs to retire because of his nagging leg.
