Bad so fast? GM built this team as a short term win now. I've been a loyal Jets fan for 48 years & now after watching this team quit while being paid millions to play hard, I'm thinking of moving on. I can handle Jets losing as long as Players play their personal best. No shame as a Player & Fan in that. But to be a fan of a team of quitters & pay money for 48 years on Jets gear & memorabilia & fly over to east coast to watch games is not happening any more. Why should I care & give them my money if the entire Jets ORG. & Players dont care about their own product they put on the field? I've never seen a more disgusting Jets team as this current team. Embarrassing, disgraceful, bunch of conman & deserve to be called NYC 2nd team of CLOWNS.
Who would have thought Bowles would be such a suck Head Coach. Even his defense blows, and he was supposed to be some kind of defensive mastermind.
Again Look at big mac
He is trying to build a team so he brings in Vets to be leaders
But he brings in Losers
Fitz & marshall etc.
YOU BRING IN WINNERS MAC not losers
i think he believes continuing to publicly kissing his players asses is going to help him keep his locker room..That's what bugs me. All the things that were supposed to be his positives have been disasters.
More accountability? He goes and backtracks on questioning the team's effort Monday night.
More discipline? Giacomini is still a 2-penalty-per-game player, you get starting DL with big money not showing up to meetings, and Mevi$ is collecting a paycheck despite having retired after last year. The team makes mental and physical mistakes all over the place.
Great defense? It's mid-afternoon Thursday, and the Colts just scored again.
Great secondary? The team has gotten torched all year long.
Great pressure? Seven sacks against the Bengals. Have they had seven since?
He was supposed to be the anti-Rex, instilling discipline and accountability to this team. He's done neither. Nor has he been aggressive.
I'm sure if they could have brought in Vonn Miller or Brady, they would have. Most guys who are winners aren't exactly on the free market.
That's why you try to draft and develop winners.
I do agree with the D & D but marshall & fitz were big losers...I mean the top of their class...You can't any bigger...well maybe with Tebow
Last year, both were instrumental to the team being 10-6. In many seasons, that gains a playoff berth.

But losers lose when the spot light is on.......there must be a reasons they get passed on by all their teams for years......We can't fire all coaches & GM's in football. LOL
Look A-roid won one WS but he was a loser also. You play enough years you get lucky once in a while.
Richardson has time but as of now he is one too.......I once saved a women from drowning in LI but she tried to drag me down with her......lets hope Mo does not go down with Richardson. This is what big mac needs to get rid of folks...losers & we have many of them.
Your a little bit wrong on your analysis on me for this team this year my friend. I believed they could win 10 games this year but very worried they wouldn't.
1st-Fitzpatrick, need I say more? Him being resigned worried me BIG TIME!!! Go back and look at my post, I felt all along last years stats were a fluke and BM, Decker, Ivory and Powell carried him. Not for them, his stats would have been average to below average, and this would have won 5-6 games last year. Yes, this is a team game and it takes more than a QB to win games, but a real QB shows up in the biggest moments and carries a team when need be. IMO and it's not just the Fitz hater in me, Fitz never did that last year. Those four offensive players, especially BM bailed Fitz out of so many spots it's ridiculous. Bad and inaccurate passes, ints he knocked out of defenders hands because he couldn't catch them himself.
2nd-Our schedule was truly cupcake last year as opposed to this year. First, 7 games were murderers row this year. If we could have gotten outta that with a 3-4, 4-3 record, we had a shot I though but it didn't happen.
3rd-Our team got older this year from last year with a lot of overpaid good but not great players. Not game changers like Von Miller, J.J. Watt, Patrick Peterson, A.J. Green, E. Elliot and Dak. Which brings me to my 4th worry, see below.
4th-The damn draft. How did we allow Dak to slip through our hands? There were other 4th rounders, and further the Jets passed on also like Jordan Howard. Instead, we sign Forte, who hasn't played bad at all for us I will admit but they draft Hack instead of Dak, and Hack won't even see the field until next year, HOPEFULLY. We must have the worst scouting team and CS (when it comes to drafting players) in the NFL.
5th-TB, Mac, and Gailey I was behind from day one, up until now! So you got me there. I'm frustrated beyond belief with all three of them and initially ready to give up on them 1-2 weeks ago, but I'm not ready to give up on them just yet. I thought from last year; they would figure this thing out and keep us competitive this year at least but man was I wrong. I was never really happy with the off-season moves they made both years, especially in the draft but I trusted in them. Last year worked out; this year did not. So we'll see how it goes next year.
Overall, I had my hopes up for this year as a playoff team at least, not SB contender but I was very realistic that neither would be the case. I never thought it would be this bad and go this bad this fast!!!
Well, regardless of why you thought this team would be better, you are definitely correct in asking the question....How did it all go bad so fast?
IMO, this is a perfect storm of a lot of factors:
1) MUCH harder schedule than last season
2) An OL that was in desperate need of retooling and Mac summarily dismissing the need.
3) A HC that everyone thought was a Parcells disciple. Todd Bowles is the farthest thing from a Parcells disciple as I've ever seen.
4) Everyone thinking this team was much better than it was based on a cupcake schedule last season and the Jets winning 10 of those games.
5) A complete surprise in Revis' meteoric decline.
6) Complete laziness on the part of many veterans that were considered to be the bread and butter players. The guys you could always rely on to show up.
7) Resigning Fitz. I fell for the hype. I admit it. I still 100% believe Todd Bowles made the right choice in quarterbacks though? The pressure on Bowles and Mac would be far worse IMO if he had gone with Geno Smith. Geno Smith is terrible and everyone knows it.
Now there could be others, but these are the ones that I can think of. Either way this team is even worse now than they were in 2014. Mac has basically turned around nothing on this team. He should know that he is in full rebuild mode at this point. You keep the good, young, promising players and pretty much overhaul the rest of the roster..........
After starting 5-5 last year, the Jets had six must-win games. They went 5-1 in them.
They are still losers you forget there are others on the team......when it counted the most they folded like Geno after a punch.
Maybe big mac likes losers around him...time will tell
To be honest, when it counted most, they went 5-1.
If you want to ignore the previous five games, fine. I am not about to do that.
I agree with most of this. Resigning Fitz was probably necessary based on what we have at QB. I still would have let him retire before I paid $12M. Let year more than half of his TD's were jump balls won by the WR's. And there could have been another 10-15 INT's. I would have played Geno before I paid Fitz $12M. I know he sucks, but we weren't going to be good anyway and Fitz's ceiling is 8-8 especially vs good teams and probably worse. There is not one good defense that was scared of Fitz. They salivate when they see him on the schedule. So out of the 7 things you listed, Fitz is by far the biggest reason for this teams plight. Mac has a ton of work to do, but they need to get younger and not play for wins. Surely he will get a stud in next years draft.
After starting 5-5 last year, the Jets had six must-win games. They went 5-1 in them.
But when it was really on the line that final must win game was very telling.
And the topper is he loses to the coach that was fired. Between those two loses to Rex last year and this years shitshow , I don't know how Woody lets it go on.
