Additionally, 3 of these guys made Daniel Jeremiah's top 150 draft list. Room for optimism............

Both Rex and DWoody said if they just remain the same, they'll do some damage.
The defense should get better. OK, a touch of bias with them , but Troy Aikman is sensible when he said Aaron is the best at protecting the ball AND making big plays. However he does recognize the talent in the other AFC teams.

I’ll give it a C until there is further evaluation. JD has shown that he has a tendency to gamble on hurt players (started with Bryce and continued through this draft). We may have gotten some steals, but until we see them with their pads on, we won’t know.

Love the Tippmann pick. The biggest need on the OL was a long-term answer at C. They had their pick of Tippmann or JMS, and they chose their guy.

I do not blame the Jets for McDonald. They had to move down to make the deal with the Packers, and they saw all the OTs they wanted go before. So them taking another edge is fine. Remember, a few years back, we complained about how long it had been since the Jets had a viable pass rush. Don't love the pick, as I think they could have had him later in the first. But if he is the top guy on your board and nobody is offering you fair value for a tradeback, you take him. They did probably the best they thought they could in a bad situation.

Carter Warren helps one of the other needs on the OL, and that is depth at OT. I don't know if he is an immediate starter, but he definitely offers depth to a position where starters are in house, but their durability is in question.

Abanikanda is a very good pick. He's a good scheme fit, and he can both step in until Hall is 100% and perhaps eventually help replace Carter, who I think may not be the best fit long-term.

Barnes...I don't love the pick, but I see the usefulness. He could provide some depth at LB and perhaps more importantly, some added talent for specials.

Bernard-Converse seems to me the type of pick that fits into what the Jets did a couple years ago in the later rounds. Physical potential, something of a tweener, may help fit the need in offering a different skill set than Clark if they pair the two at safety. More likely I could see him in a rotation, with Tony Adams being the primary guy paired with Clark, and Bernard-Converse is a rotational guy and special teamer.

Kuntz is a scout pick. He has all the measurables, came from a school from a smaller conference. It's a chance. Low floor, but a very, VERY high ceiling if it does all click for him.

I don't hate any picks. Some I like more than others, and I absolutely love Tippmann. It was probably the one thing I wanted most out of this draft. I would give it a B- overall, but I think an argument could be made for it to be a little higher.

I did not like our first pick. Not to say he is worthless. I am sure he will probably be a very good addition to the Defense. I felt OT Harrison was more of a need. If you wanted BPA, CB Gonzales who the Pats took right after us and also WR Nbika (sp) was still there. Can you imagine 3 very good CB.

I think OT was more of a need, but I also think Harrison in that spot would have been overdrafting. JSN might have been an option there, and I was a little surprised he wasn't the choice with all the top tackles gone.

I heard someone (cant remember who) talking about how in the AFC and all the top tier QB's that are here, an elite pass rush is vital. It makes total sense. no matter how good a QB is, if he is running for his life he will be much less effective. I have zero problems with McDonald as the first round pick.

the start of a draft can be fluid especially when belichick's spiteful vindictive ass is involved..
