How do you all feel about, the Jets taking... at #7?

Penn State Tight End Tyler Warren who on April 6th had one visit and came to Florham Park! The Jets regime snuck him in, keeping their intentions quiet, so what say you, do you think he is the right prospect for the team with this need should take in the Top 10? Do you think they may trade down a couple spots still to take him or do they stand pat and take him at 7?

If we draft him (9 - 12) I'd rather that it be after a trade down, and use the 2nd or one of the 3rd(s) we get on an OL. I won't be slicing my wrists at 7, but really think we can get a quality TE in 2nd or 3rd.

The one thing I will say about this draft is that I think it is pretty deep at TE. It may not be much of a dropoff from Warren to the guys who could be there in the second. I'd say it is probably a bigger dropoff at OT.

Membou, Warren, Campbell, in that order for me.
Graham's stock seems to be slipping for no apparent reason. Campbell is a LT and we know Fashanu isn't enough of a mauler to play RT. On the night a lot of these choices will be made by the teams in front of us. Can't see anyone I would trade UP for, particularly with all the positions we need to improve.

On topic, I wouldn't cut my throat if they took Warren but I would be really happy if they traded back a few spots and took him then.

I'm fine with the pick, but ideally I prefer a trade down first. I also believe if any of the following fall to 7 you have to take them over Warren. Hunter, Carter, Graham , Jeanty and possibly McMillan.
I get the positional value argument for RB but there's no argument if it's RB vs TE. The 2 least valuable offensive positions. Jeanty has an extremely high floor and is one of the true Blue chip players in this class.

So do you like Hunter as a WR or as a CB, because I don't think you can play two ways in the NFL, at least not every down? Jeanty doesn't seem to have proved himself against the powerhouse schools, and would be an odd pick unless we are planning to trade Breece. Boise State O line seemed to make more holes for Jeanty than the Jets did last season. Hopefully Carter will be gone before we pick because he was unimpressive at the end of the season but would be difficult to pass on. McMillan will almost certainly be there, but I wouldn't take him over Warren. TE has been a low value offensive position for the Jets for a number of years, but Kelce seems to make his mark at the Chiefs.

Id play Carter at CB and have a package of plays for him at WR.
Your comment on Jeanty is actually laughable. He set the record for most yards after contact in a single season, with 1971 yards. That's more than any runner had in total yards He also set the record for most missed tackles forced in a season , with164 ,and most yards after contact in the CFP era. He put up 194 on Oregon over 100 vs PSU in the playoff game but PSU got up early and forced the pass. If the line really opened up holes like you say, He could not possibly have the yards after contact he does.
All these players are superior to Warren. And all more valuable position wise. Yes The Jets have had poor TE production for years ,but have drafted more TEs than any other team.Yoc can't pass on a better prospect, at a higher positional value because you have missed at TE frequently. Kelce was a far better prospect than Warren. He was the best blocking TE in his class and one of the best receiving TE in his class and he was Drafted in the third round. Warren is not the best recieving TE in this class and is far from the best blocking TE available. He has the potential to become a great blocker and a great receiver but his routes need much work as does his blocking.
Your drafting players not position

That being said, I wouldn't have a problem if they dratted #44, but feel greater need elsewhere.
If Graham is there do you still take #44?
